I think large parts of it the PQ felt a bit too soft for my taste. The bitrate peaked at around 20 Mbps.. Why can't warner step up and give us higher bitrate now that they dropped HD DVD?

I haven't yet...I was going to buy this...I will rent it now. I agree with you thinking WB should encode their movies with higher bitrates now. The fact is technically they still support HD until the end of June. So I guess we will still get the same WB transfers as we always have untill then. New Line Cinema however is releasing its movies in VC-1 at the higher Blu-ray specific bitrates. Both Rush Hour 3 and Shoot'em Up had great PQ. I will expect the same once WB officially produces no more HD-DUDs.
