Wow that's coincidence. I didn't even realize that post was there. Lol. See that's how great they are. , and I'll be honest if you spend this amount on any other sub it just won't be as good. Trust me. There is a reason direct to Internet companies like OPPO or Outlaw can offer prices like they do. They're cutting the middle man and retail out which saves the consumer hundreds of dollars. So all these name brands that can be purchased in stores for a few hundred dollars more are worth a lot less, and of much lesser quality, which OPPO has proven to the consumer, time and time again. You would have to spend above a grand to match the plus or the ex in sound quality. By the way I just realized Outlaw is selling the EX for the same price as the plus now. On sale with free shipping until January 30th, which the other poster, posted the link to for you. So if you have the funds, now is the best time to purchase, or like I said just wait until St. patty's day when the Plus will be on sale too.

two of the 10" models would be right at $500
Ya I actually considered both of them. Always thought 2 subs upfront would sound great. Especially right below my wall mounted paradigm speakers.

Those 2 subs won't equal one LFM-1plus/ex. They just won't. Just because you have two of something doesn't make it better. Buy the outlaw.

So you like the outlaw more than SVS, HSU, ED, Epik??

Outlaw is definitely better than any thing Elemental Design, and Epik sell with in the same price range. When it comes to SVS and HSU clearly there subs will be a little more advanced ( although Dr HSU helped design The LFM) but you'll also pay a little more for the same quality. I consider HSU a company that's focused on sound and aesthetics which means youre going to pay a little for "style" and luxury. You said you wanted to spend no more than $500. With a budget like $500. You won't find a sub better than the EX at $549. I can guarantee that. And I clearly like Outlaw as a brand more since I opted for them over ED, Epik, HSU, and SVS.

Hey semp1 do you feel the lfm1 EX is worth the extra hundred dollars at 649.00?? or is the plus at 549 enough of a ground pounder

Well right now. The EX is on sale for the same price as the plus. I'll tell you now my plus is crazy. I keep the port plugged for the lower bass and the volume only up half way and it still shakes my whole house, you can feel it on the top floor from the basement level. I went with the Plus because size wise I felt the EX was slightly bigger than my space warranted. Looking back in retrospect I probably shouldve just spent the $100 extra, and dealt with the humongousness. I'll be honest though the plus is way more than enough. You can never go too big because you can always turn the volume down. You can go to weak though, no way to fix that. At the price now the EX is clearly the better deal. Come St. Pattys day the plus usually drops $100 also. The plus is more than enough and probably too much for any one with AV gear in the price range of $1-$3 grand, but if you want the EX just for peace of mind,to know you got the top model than get it. Otherwise it really is unnecessary.

Thanks so much for your insight. I am planning on mating a sub with my paradigm pw 2200 (1500 watts/500RMS). Sounds like the lfm1 ex would be a close match to the 2200.

I am also considering the new Klipsch sw 115.

It seems to have a little more power than paradigms dsp 3400. The new monitor series of subs from paradigm sounded crappy to me.

I like that hsu helped create the lfm series. Seems with hsuresearch products you pay for fancy veneers. I know that the hsu subs are slightly reinforced. I read somewhere that the breathing of the hsu subs is better. However, that doesn't justify the additional cost in my mind. Guess the only way to truly know is to audition them.

I am leary about buying something i can't see or hear first.

There are some new subs coming from goldenear that seem to have the power rating of my 2200, but i think the numbers may be inflated as i have learned from other forum members (1500 wattz down to 12hz for the goldenear forcefield 5) is a big promise?

I really like outlaw products in general. Would much rather have a sub or power amplifier from them than emotiva. Nothing wrong with emo gear, just feel it is overpriced comparitively.

How's the time to get the Ex. I can pretty much guarantee if you buy it. You won't be sending it back.

Thanks for all the comments and opinions guys. You got me really thinking about the outlaw sub. The only thing I am Leary of is the size of it. I thought the SVS would make a nice addition due to its 14" square pretty much. I have a isolation sub dude that is 15x15x2 that I use to use for my SVS cylinder sub I had last year

I love the fact that the out law can hit so low. But I also live in a townhouse condo and want to avoid shaking the whole unit, more of nice clean full bass through out the room. I figure the sub dude will help with that.

By the way $500 was just a reference price. Like I said in a earlier post if I have to go a little more i will.

I don't think it's a guarantee to be happy in that price range. I've been watching this thread, and I'm not in anyones pocket, but I know ryan4blu can afford more. I don't think he will be happy with it, after owning a SVS.

That's funny and yes I do love SVS, but at this point I can only afford the entry level sealed sub they have. That's why I was considering other sub choices

One or two of these would be bought @ $364 each

I know that , I'm just saying that from what I've read the Outlaw is good for it's price point. Obviously it's not going to to be as good as if you move up the ladder and are considering subs in a higher price bracket. I don't think you should be going with a high output ported sub with the Cinema's anyway, IMO they just don't have the output to be able to keep up. You'll have a better balanced system that in the end will sound better if you choose something that better match's the capability's of the Paradigms. I think the SVS SB 12 NSD would be a good choice.

Thanks again for your input, that's the sub I have been leaning towards. It's the right size and power. The specs are good for my set up. But I have some time to look at some more choices. Thanks

Maybe you want to look into their compact 10 inch version. Buy what will make you happy. Maybe Outlaw is not for you. Anything else in that range compared just seems a waste. But I don't know that's just my opinion.
