me too!

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney does a theatrical rerelease of Aladdin prior to the bluray release (maybe in 3D?)

I really doubt that. It seems that Aladdin is getting another chance, but it is a spring release, I doubt it could be at theaters again. But, if that happens, it would be soooo nice!

I'd love a 3D conversion of Aladdin!

I was really hoping to see some of the old live-action Disney movies in there. Swiss Family Robinson was on TV not too long ago and the HD transfer looked pretty good. I'd also like to see the Mighty Ducks trilogy someday on Blu-ray. Ah well, at least it's good to see a good variety of titles in the pipeline

WOOP!
Good to see some acknowledgement of Aladdin now! Was worried Disney was trying to ignore it for some reason.

Anyways, I think that's the Disney movie I want the most on Blu-Ray now.
I'd also like The Little Mermaid (as I don't own the DVD) and The Emperors New Groove. Finding Nemo would round off the Pixar Collection nicely too.
If the Disney Rewards program is still in motion when these titles are released, they're pretty much definite purchases!

And yes, put me down for wanting a theatrical Aladdin 3D release!
If they've done Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King, and they're doing The Little Mermaid, it'd be stupid not to do Aladdin as well while they're at it.
Even though you could argue that Aladdin isn't as "timeless" as the other three movies I just mentioned, due to the pop culture references and it being the animated movie that began the stream of using celebrity voice actors.

this is pretty much the animation thread on Disney films, but I agree with you - I thought 20,000 Under the Leagues was getting prepped for a bluray release this year, along side Mary Poppins.

+1. The packaging doesn't say "Diamond Edition" anywhere; it also wasn't released in one of the two traditional windows for Diamond & Platinum releases ("spring" = February-early March; "fall" = first Tuesday in October).

I liked the Black Cauldron too, and read the books as a kid. Would love for somebody to make movies of the other two in the "Chronicles of Prydain" series.

Again: F/F2K was SUPPOSED to be released in March '10, but then all of a sudden Disney got greedy about also cross-promoting "Dumbo" in time for the Disney Parks announcement before their studio was physically able to master more than one Vault Blu per season, the conveyor belt blew a gasket, and we didn't get anything for spring.
(Oh c'mon, remember all the "Where's Dumbo?" threads, and wondering whether we'd get Fantasia at all, or had they put it back in the vault?)

Beauty/Beast 2D was the Fall '10 Diamond, and Fantasia was "The Spring '10 Diamond, Or, Well, It WOULD Have Been, Anyway, So We'll Just Try To Ignore That "

Just got done watching Aladdin for the first time in a while. Forgot how much I liked it!
Jafar is awesome, and I didn't realise how much his plot is connected with the rest of the film's plot, strangely enough. And the overall plot is great too. I also love the Sultan, and even though Aladdin and Jasmine's voices don't really suit the setting of the movie (as pointed out by That Guy With the Glasses), they're still enjoyable to listen to.
The songs are AMAZING. Prince Ali and A Whole New World especially. Aladdin may be my favourite collection of Disney songs as I've just realised recently that Alan Menken is an awesome songwriter. Didn't realise he wrote Little Shop of Horrors too! That makes him the musical god.

I own the 2004(?) DVD, and I have to say that it DOES need the upgrade to Blu-Ray. I thought the 2002 BatB DVD was one of the best DVD transfers of all time, but TLK needed the Blu-Ray upgrade.
So yeah, when it comes to Blu, reward points or not, I'll pick it up. I'll also check it out if it's released theatrically in 3D as well despite seeing it in a cinema in London last year. One of the top five Disney movies.

The Rescuers actually look nice.
Cinderella looks bad because its just floaty bodies.. DIsney does not need to advertise their movies as much as they are! A simple picture that only has cinderella and/or the dance that happened is enough for me... Furthermore, I believe that a perfect cover for Walt Disney's favorite movie is to have a lithographic image of the dress transformation (given it was also his fav scene from all the movies that he made)...

but Disney will not change anything. -_-"

Believe it or not Cindy is another recycled cover from a potential platinum release that they considered.
