I was in a major retail outlet yesterday and they had mispriced their new Star Wars action figures to $1.94. Wouldn't really call it a 'deal' though. |

i said i got LUCKY with getting 2-Disc version however "faraz69" managed to get LATT 3-DISC version for $19.99 + he was able to use the $8 coupon. What i said was i wanted to know from which store faraz69 was able to get the 3-disc for such a good price caz i need to buy another copy of LATT for my sister. So, I’m not sure if "faraz69" was just trolling about getting the 3-sic version because i had asked him yesterday about where & how he got the 3-disc version but he has not responded back... I’m probably going to go to SDM today and try to use the $8 coupon there and see what happens... (Otherwise i still got another $5 coupon) just in case Last edited by rana09; 02-08-2012 at 06:59 PM. |

nah man i wasnt trolling i got in at the bowmanville walmart. Wasnt hard at all to PM plus i grabbed the 3 disc set with the gold cover which was the exact same picture listed on the coupon so really the only thing that had to be done was pm the movie. Which i just pointed out that the flyer said blu ray dvd combo which is what it said on the cover anyways so they did it. Also it definetly wasnt luck because i told my buddy who also went and did it the next day.
rana just point out that is the combo pack and you should be good at any walmart. |

The SDM flyer clearly shows the two-disc and even has the words "DVD" next to the picture. The product you PMed was the three-disc which sells for $3-10 more. I just said you got lucky because the person at Walmart didn't care or couldn't tell the difference. Everyone here on this forum can. I am just saying it is not the same as "The lowest price on this movie is $XX" because it was not, nor ever intended to sell the three-disc for that price. No retailer is offering that. And rana, I totally disagree with your choice of avatar. I think what MIA did was totally uncool and unprofessional. I hope they nail her in fines. |

Worst case scenario you can go on support with the coupon company. They will try to get you to modify your computer in various ways to make their annoying embedded software to work. After much effort, if it still doesn't work, Disney can snail mail you a coupon with a later expiry date. Then you can go to various stores to try and find one that will accept it. Of course by then the initial sales will be over, so you probably won't save much.
This is how Disney treats their loyal customers - forcing them to use a sneaky software when they could easily just publish a PDF coupon that anyone can use on any computer. |

Sorry Neild but I don't agree with that. Disney is by far one of the best companies out there for treating their loyal customers above and beyond what any other company does for theirs.
The coupon software provides no problems for me on my computers and is there to limit the amount of coupons each computer can print. If it were a simple PDF, nothing would prevent someone from printing 100's off. (Not that I could think of any reason why someone would do that!) But ya I love Disney. They have the best transfers, and blu-ray packaging, plus offering coupons for all their big releases. And if there's any problems, they have an awesome customer support team too. |

im sayin it is a deal in the sense that everyone here can go try and do it. if it doesnt work whatever you can still get the 2 disc set for 14.77. you will never know unless u try it, its worth a shot. for those that dont want to do that you dont have to im not pointing a gun to your head, im just pointing out an option that can be helpful. |

And at SDM, the clerk was insisting on the gold-bordered 3 disc BD case version instead of the 2-disc blu-bordered DVD-case version. She was insisting the 3 disc was the one on sale for $19.xx, and that the other one was $31.99. I was tempted to accept her mistake as my good fortune, but stuck with it and waited while she got further confirmation that the cash register and what she'd been told by the supervisior was incorrect. So long story short, it is possible the other member was at SDM and had a similar encounter... |

And just to let you know, the true reasons for the invasive coupon software is not to limit duplicate copies of coupons. There's several ways to create as many coupons as you want, ways I'm not going to get into here though. And as you already mentioned, there's no actual reason or benefit to limiting coupons prints anyway. Everyone's mail is full of them and there's thousands at every grocery store entrance. If Disney truly cared about customers' ease, privacy, and security, they could switch to .PDF style coupons tomorrow. PDF style coupons would save them money on printing and distribution. If you're that concerned about duplicates, just insert the words '1 per customer' on the PDF file. The risk of someone using a coupon 100 times is dampened if they have to make 100 visits. And besides, the coupons expire in a week anyway! As you mention Disney claims to treat their loyal customers better. But this sneaky coupon software mess is a real black eye that lowers their credibility and I hope one day when enough people know the facts Disney will abolish it. |

Lots of software today do these things. In fact, unless you are running software from Win98, the majority of your software probably does this. That does not mean there is any reason for alarm. Companies like to know how their software is being used and where and how often. A lot of it is benign information. However, you make the ultimate decision in deciding whether or not it is worth it to you to install the software and print the coupon! If you don't want anyone to see anything of what you do, you might as well cut up your credit and debit cards, disconnect yourself from the Internet and live 'off the grid'. I think $8 off is worth it for me. Especially since I don't really have a very interesting life to investigate. Does that mean that I don't believe in identity theft? Of course I do. However, there is always a measure of acceptable risk and just because software 'phones home' does not mean that they are stealing my credit card numbers. Quote:
And with the software phoning home, they could possibly narrow down where a particular coupon came from if they suddenly receive 1000s of the same coupon. A reasonable way to deter fraud, if you ask me. |

But back on topic, you miss the point. It is for legal reasons. Does the FBI warning at the start of any film stop pirating in any way? no, but if they decide to go after someone they can say "it was there and he saw it and he knew it was CR and involved in a criminal activity", they can go to the shareholders and say "look we do what we can to stop piracy"...... Same here in order to have to coupons you definitely had to commit a criminal activity. But to go and buy two films with a pdf coupon you do not ("I bought one and my wife bought one, we thought that made us two customers", "I bought one on --/--/---- at --:--:-- from ZZZZ and one at **/**/**** at **:**:** from XXXX I thought that made me two customers".... It is much harder to pretend ignorance and go for that defence with SW that prints only one individual coupon. |
