I have a feeling after Storm of Swords (Season 3&4), they won't hang as closely with the book progression. GRRM stated that books 5 & 6 started out as one book but got too large and was divided into separate books.

I just likes the stark slip too much to lose out on it. The normal embossed cover is damn sexy as well though.

And I could always sell the BB exclusive and keep the slip to put over the normal edition if I want to recoup some money later on down the road....
I think Sopranos season 1 got down to like 14.99 at one point (maybe less), so I have no problem picking this up with that cover if it gets that cheap. Even if it sits at 19.99, I'd still have gotten two special editions, and the regular edition for less than I paid for when HBO first was launching seasons on blu-ray win win for me.

They could do all kinds of things for other seasons. Have a white walkers, and Night Watch edition, exc.

And I believe they will if HBO gains or holds the kinds of numbers they got with season 1.

It does appear everyone has their preferences based on their own reasoning. I myself just got the regular edition. At the end of the day I am just happy it was only $34.99. I sure by next week it will be up to $49.99+, this is what happened with Boardwalk Empire season 1 when it was released.

I lucked out and had $70 in reward zone gift certifs to use, so I got Games of Thrones, Generation Kill and The Rite all for $3.26. Not a bad deal.

Hope everyone enjoys their newest addition.

Is anyone else having problems selecting the commentaries from the menu? I'm still able to get them by manually shuffling through the audio tracks, but when selected through the menu it either stays on the English DTS track or switches to another language. It's not that big of a deal, but I was just wondering if it's my disc or a widespread thing.

My Best Buy actually had a bunch of copies of both exclusive covers at lunch time. This morning, they just hadn't set up the display yet.

What are we going to be left with by Season 7 or 8? House Tully? House Bolton? No one wants that.

Could have done (this is in no particular order or based on any of the books):

1 - Stark
2 - Lannister
3 - Baratheon
4 - Targaryen
5 - Tyrell
6 - Martell?
7 - Arryn?

But instead they've blown their wad on two Houses for one season.
and yet you leave out House of Greyjoy? Night Watch could always get a cover too...

There's so many possibilities for exclusive covers. I'm actually surprised there aren't more. I wish they came out with Baratheon and Targaryen first rather than Stark and Targaryen.

Debating whether to get this. The first episode didn't hook me but most people have such glowing reviews of the show that I want to see more.

you guys can return, exchange, etc.. I'm on Central America so I hope it plays fine on my ps3, don't want another "sunshine" issue.

I have two copies, but for personal finance reasons, I'm going to take one back. I'm just not sure which one to return. I have:

1. The Target one with the standard cover and bonus documentary disc.
2. The BB Stark/Wolf one with the exclusive cover.

Which one should I keep? Bonus disc/content? Or exclusive cover? Hmmm... Decisions.... Decisions....

It's not a major issue really (though it should still be addressed if it is widespread). You can still get the commentaries - just manually go through the audio tracks.

Dude, seriously...slipcover prevails. You know you'll never watch the commentary.

Go for the bonus documentary. The standard slipcover is better anyway.

Has anyone watched the bonus documentary? I'm interested in knowing exactly what it is.
