I don't have cable TV or even an antenna. Only shows I watch are on BD or DVD. When I went back to the US, I had a hard time getting used to the commercials.

Check out Rome.

I only have two tv shows on blu-ray. Firefly and Game of Thrones, and I really like both of them. In my opinion, this show has great rewatchability. The political plot twists, and all of the different locations and families make it very complex.

I have the firmware update page for my player saved under my favorites, but I haven't checked it in about a month. Probably not a bad idea to check it. It played all of the shows flawlessly, as long as I didn't try to do anything while it was playing.

I have an antenna and get about 15 channels, but most of them are crap.

I might check out Rome if I find a good deal on it. I've slowed way down on BD purchases recently. I've probably got about 15 movies that I haven't even watched since I bought them.

You might be able too check your firmware version in the player menu. This way saving an empty dvd. Good luck.

I can check it in the player menu, but I also keep and label the discs after updating so I can quick reference without firing up my HT, but I appreciate you looking out for me buddy.

I just finished watching the entire 10 hours of Game of Thrones on blu-ray today. I had never seen any of it, and I really loved it. If you can imagine Lord of the Rings with a little less sorcery/magic and a little more medieval politics, that's kind of what it's like. It felt more like a big budget movie than a tv show, and the video quality is absolutely perfect. The audio was great too. Although there's quite a bit of dialog scenes, the surrounds and LFE kick in when it's needed. Personally I would've liked a little more LFE overall, but it does have some great moments.

[Show spoiler]I did have a few technical problems with the discs though. If I tried to do anything except play or pause, it would reload like you just inserted it in the player. If I tried to rewind it for just a second, it would start over. If I tried to fast forward over the opening credits, it would start over. It's also kind of odd that disc 1 has 2 episodes, disc 2 has 3, disc 3 has 1, disc 4 has 3, disc 5 has 1, even though all of them are about 55 minutes each. Also, you can put in any disc in the set, select any of the 10 episodes, and if that particular episode is not on that disc, it will tell you to insert the other disc. Why have an option to select an episode that's not even on that disc?

The A/V quality and the story itself are all awesome, but the disc navigation is terrible.

It's just $34.99 at Best Buy this week
[Show spoiler](And, THREE Different covers to choose from! Very Cool, IMO)
, which isn't bad for how much (10 hrs) of material you have, plus, it has some very cool "trinkets" enclosed in the set.

Thanks, Froggy. I'll have to look into this.

I watched the first minute or so, then I couldn't take it any longer. Looks like the keychain was a preorder special.

Mr. Patience.

You know you CAN "Fast Forward" thru it to see what's inside the set.

[Show spoiler](also has some very nice looking coasters, a set of 4, different designs on them)

Love this site. Easy to keep track of the movies that I haven't watched. Have a dozen unwatched, but 15 more and Game of Thrones on the way.

Hey Wabo.

I combated losing that hour by sleeping about two more than usual, so I feel great, the only problem now is that I've lost about three hours today.

The navigation is the ones that made the bluray discs fault.. Not your bd player.

Cool that the update helped.

What's happening, Froggy?

I love it when I get to sleep in. It's the best!

Say, how many episodes are in season 1 of Games of Thrones?

10 at about 55 minutes each, so basically at least 10 hours total, counting piss breaks and snacks.

He has a strange way of playing. Sounds like he doesn't really know what he's doing or is playing by instinct alone.
