Default February 12th: HD DVD strikes back??

I was reading an article on a french HD forum in wich it was written that Toshiba is going to strike back on Frebruary 12th... They are planing to make a new announcement and trying to come back ... Have you heard of it?

After the SuperBowl advert do you think that they are doing their best to come back? If they keep selling HD DVD players they will confuse more and more people about HD!

Is it the announcement of a new Toshiba branded dual Blu-ray / HD DVD player?

this is just more made up crap out of the red camp. there is no "coming back" that is why we keep seeing 50% and BOGOs from Paramount and Universal, they are clearing stock.

Maybe their big announcement is that they have persuaded 99Cent stores to go HD-DVD exclusive!

I think we'll keep seeing these "Toshiba making a comeback" dates posted every week or so by HD DVD fanboys until Toshiba officially stops making HD DVD players. The "comeback" dates will come and go and no good news for HD DVD will arrive, same as always. It just gives the diehard HD DVD supporters something to look forward to. Why remaining HD DVD supporters maintain their "HD DVD will strike back" mentality is borderline loony IMO. Don't sweat it.

Maybe they will just release TL51 players, and all uni's new movies will be TL51 and can't play on old players, so they can sell more players to those who just bought the 50% off players.
