Then they will lose my sale. I avoid Target's store because they refused to give aid to troops for many years and the exact same products are noticeably cheaper at Wal-Mart. It also doesn't help that their grocery selection is abysmal.

If you're still willing to order from their site then why would those things you mentioned matter? Target.com is still Target no? Getting it from their store benefits you doesn't it? I never understood this mentality.

Also you may want to get your facts straightened out: http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/target.asp

It's a Target exclusive as much as I hate their company. Where else am I going to get it? It will be $25 or more on eBay.

I knew all of that, but at one time that first point was not false. Trust me I know this for a fact. I use Snopes all of the time. Great site.

I'm questioning your logic of

1.) You willing to buy it from Target.com
2.) Since it's not available at Target.com you refusing to buy it at a Target store because of personal beliefs

That makes zero sense. You think the simple act of stepping into their store to buy Casablanca is somehow different than buying it from Target.com with regards to your beliefs?

Indeed, it makes perfect sense. At least if I order online I don't have to deal with an overdose of the color red. I'm thinking I'll wait for eBay or Amazon third party anyway.

How is it silly? It looks pretty clean looking to me. I would prefer to have the 70th anniversary mentioned somewhere and obviously a slipcover would be nice, but I don't see why you'd react that way to the current cover.

Default The $19.99 Target-only Blu-ray is the new 4K transfer

Just in case anyone is wondering, the $19.99 main-disk-only Target exclusive on Casablanca is the new transfer. It's a little hard to see in the cover art scan, but I read the description on the box itself, and it definitely mentions the new 4K transfer.

Looks like Bogart is rather displeased with Bergman's breath.

Damn it, Amazon (or more likely UPS)! Still haven't received my copy and it's 6:30 pm on release day! They shipped out the thing on Saturday.

There is a bit of a bootleg look about it.

You people are nuts. It has the exact same elements as the previous release. The cover art actually compliments the older one quite nicely. The logo has a much more classic look to it, and the darker look is very fitting for this more filmic/grainier transfer. I also think the logo on the older is too small, and I prefer how centered everything is on this new one. Between the two covers, I'd choose the new one any day over the older.

This makes me believe the folks who have seen a listing on sites like jr.com for the end of the month. Probably going to be the same disc, and will probably be cheaper once it reaches all retailers, so if you can't find it right now and can hold out a few weeks, I'd wait. At least Target is letting you know how long they will exclusively have it.
The UPC on the preorder listing at jr.com matches the one on the Target cover (the cover itself, NOT the UPC sticker over it on the shrinkwrap); its release date is 4/24, consistent with Target's front-cover sticker. Obviously this edition is a Target exclusive for now, but will release wide 4/24.

(Edit: The UPC on the shrinkwrap is DIFFERENT from the one on the cover itself, in post #533 above. The UPC at jr.com matches the cover.)

Odd, there appears to be two of the single-disc editions listed on blu-ray.com. One happens to be mine

You picked up the huge box? I'm tempted but I already have the old, single-disc version.

My plan was to get the single disc but they only had the box set so I said what the hell and just got that. From what I've seen there's a little bit of a difference between the picture quality of the old version and this one and of course all the extras that come with the 70th Anniversary Edition. I'd say buy it, maybe when the price drops a little bit.
