I could see them splitting the third book into two movies, but they would have to include most everything from the book in order to make it last over two long films. It's my least favorite book, so condensing it down into one film may actually benefit the story.
breaking the second book into 2 would be better than splitting up Mockingjay imo

June seems more appropriate, besides its Summer and kids are out of school.

It has already been confirmed that Thanksgiving 2013 was when the next film will be out. Filming is supposed to start later this year.

and

Actually, They changed the date yesterday Morning, when they found out, that Lions Gate is thinking of releasing Hunger Games on DVD the week of June 24th, not sure if it would get a tuesday or saturday release
http://www.joblo.com/forums/showthre...=99007&page=57

Much better date...Late August is a lousy time to release anything.

I agree...that would give them plenty of time to develop characters like Finnick and Joanne

What you didn't mention was that that list of titles is from the portion titles "Unannounced/Unconfirmed Dates". I know it seems "baffling" that I created this before it was released theatrically, but it was done more so for discussion, as people like to know what to expect going in for theatrical runs, and the community here is generally great about discussing. Save for the few people that clutter this thread with about a page worth of posts scrutinizing, "OH, MY SOURCE SAYS THIS AND IT'S NOT THE SAME!!"-- Who cares? Leave this thread to discuss THE MOVIE and not the date; a simple edit when it gets officially announced will do.

First day purchase. I really enjoyed this film and I have never read the books.

I also never read the books when I saw this movie and to me it seemed like the romance between Katniss and Peeta was forced at first but that she grew to love him at the end. Learning from this thread that she is supposed to still be playing along and not really in love with Peeta at the end is disappointing to me as it adds another failure in a list of failures that I felt the movie contained.

I wanted to love it....but ended up thinking it was just ok. I too would love an option for some kind of extended cut that would give more insight into the random things that happened that felt like convenient plot devices. I've started reading the first book to give it a chance and see what I missed and why everyone loves this series so much.

nice taei!

I was just browsing through another site and someone came up with a steelbook almost like I imagined (see 4th post of this thread)

[Show spoiler]

I'd make the burning mockingjay logo smaller and have it all embossed, but that looks pretty cool for a mock-up. I really hope some region gets something like it.

I would be all over a steelbook like that, hopefully we get one locally, would probably be my first one with a stunning woman like Jennifer Lawrence on the cover.

With the success of this movie.. I won't be surprised if I see 10 different versions of the Blu-ray all with different covers. I remember that when twilight came out, they was a video that compares between all the releases. Its ridiculous but on the brighter side, hardcover fanatics will get them all which gives the movie more money and we, the people obsessed with Blu-Ray can pick the one we want the most!

Just saw this today, really enjoyed it. Stayed pretty true to the book, which was good. Would have liked to have seen a little more of Haymitch, and the build up to the actual games once they got to the Capitol, but they did a good job.

Day 1 purchase for me, that steel does look sweet, hopefully they make something understated like that, and don't ruin it with pics of the cast all over the front. Put Jen on the back, shooting her bow.

2nd book was just as good, IMHO, it's the 3rd where there is a bit of a drop off.

I've seen the movie, and I loved it. It was a really good adaptation of the book. Well, if you read the books, you couldn't help but be disappointed with the omissions (or even the additions) made. But IT WAS REALLY GOOD. I'd definitely but this when it comes out.

Those are cool. The logo could've been higher tho, IMO. But where did you get the photo for the first one?

That's the picture used on the posters given out during the mall tour.
