for those of you who haven't heard, Olive has just acquired the rights to a ton of Republic film titles including High Noon, Rio Grande, The Quiet Man, Letter From An Unknown Woman, Force of Evil, Indiscreet, Operation Petticoat, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and many others!!
these Republic films had been under the control of Lionsgate until the recent acquisition by Olive. Whether or not the rights were obtained through Lionsgate or Paramount is unclear, but it sounds like great news, and may bode well for upcoming blu-ray releases of some amazing films that have languished on terrible dvd releases for over a decade.
