For that price, I'd hope it's not made of cardboard, but durable wood (not pressboard, which warps with moisture). I'm not a big fan of Potter mostly because it reminds me of school, but I can imagine a few diehard fans will be interested regardless of the cost.

More than the price of a PS3 these days.

You're probably right, but I never venture beyond the 3D forum and didn't see it posted here

I still have the Years 1-5 trunk, and wouldn't mind just more "textbook" covers for Years 6-7 3D.

Damn, that is a good deal... too bad the 3D sort of sucks. I was disappointed with 7.1 and 7.2. The 3D sucked in both of them. But for $10 bucks, why not. Jump on it if you don't have this one in 3D. Who know, it may look good on other 3DTVs.

I googled "How to Train Your Donkey 3D" and didn't see a thing. I flipped through 5 pages of link results and didn't find any link regarding this title. Got a link for the Asian market?

It looks very good using a Sony HMD. The OLED displays really bring out the shadow detail in 3D.

I actually thought the 3D in 7.2 wasn't too bad. 7.1 sucked @ss! Not sure why they bothered with 7.1 if they couldn't be bothered to do it properly.

Yeah, thanks! I went into the store and they had it as 29.99, and the 2D ones listed as 9.99 so I did a price check and sure enough, 9.99 3D!

Yeah, watching it now, the dragon scene had good 3D, but the rest of it is mostly flat, very conservative 3D to the point they barely had to do anything when shifting the layers on the 2D to 3D conversion (ie: a rush job).

That said, there are some nice 3D shots here and there and it's definitely worth 9.99$, plus I'm actually enjoying the movie, even though I'm not an HPotter fan. Good monsters and FX! Interesting story. I only bought HP 7 part 2 3D.

HP 7.1 3D was disappointing to me( I thought it did have some great 3D shots here and there though ), but 7.2 is clearly much better 3D imo. I think it's a pretty good conversion if my memory serves me

I still really get confused about the differing opinions for part 2's 3D. My conclusion is that it must really come down to the blacks. Depending on the equipment one has, I would think that is what is really effecting the consensus on the 3D. I have a LG passive set, and it handles the blacks just about perfectly for my taste.

Been after 7.2 for some months now but never got around to buying it 'til now with this sale. Doesn't really matter to me that the 3D is about as flat as I experienced in the theater. IMO, the quality of the actual movie is worth the $10 and the fact that 3D is there is a very nice addition to what's already a great deal.

The black levels looked great on my set. Vizio Theater 3D. I mostly judge the 3D based on the layers. If they're so close together that I can barely detect 3D, then that shot I consider flat. HP 7.2 had a lot of those shots having watched it twice now. Thankfully there are a number of well done 3D layer shots, especially the shot at the end with Voldemor and the flakes going up into the air, the Dragon, the book keeper at the bank, a good number of end battle shots.

A flat shot would be when Harry Potter (who was great in The Woman in Black remake) is talking to John Hurt. You can see the bed post is barely separate from Hurt, and Potter. Everything's almost on the same plane. Those shots are fast conversions, since there's hardly any work involved based on the minimal shifting done. Hardly any fill ins either. They were probably under pressure to get it done.

This was a nice surprise despite the overall weak 3D layers. $9.99 well spent IMO, mostly for the movie and FX, which were pretty cool.

I went to BB last night and it was listed for 29.99. I asked an associate to check the price (I never saw the ad), he said 29.99 was correct so we put it back. I look this morning on the website - 9.99 in store only.

Kind of pissed about that! Going back today to get my copy, I hope the same guy is working......

If you can, get a hard copy of the ad or either get the ad on your smartphone so that you can stick it up, oops... I mean show the sales clerk the error in his/her judgement.

@WVL - oh yeah, I hope he's there, I plan on it.

Not the first time Best Butt has done this to me, same situation happened with my 3dTV! I got my LG Cinema 3D LED 47in, LG 3d Blu ray player, and 4 pairs of glasses for 799.99 all in. However before my purchase, we went up and asked an associate about it and they laughed at me! lol Like, really laughed. It was actually pretty rude. He said no way, don't know where you heard that but it's definitely not correct.

BAM! Smartphone to the rescue. Pulled up the BB site, found the guy and said "Hey man, is this your site? Best Buy dot com? That's you right? Because it says right here you have this bundle, in store pickup only, with availability at Bridgeton MO right now. This is Bridgeton right? Missouri? We're not in Illinois?"

I was an overly sarcastic ass. Felt great. Behold, oh here they are - we do have this sale going!

Off subject but the best part of this story, they had 3 in stock - we were walking up to the encap where they were, I was reaching for a box to look at it - see how many and what type of inputs, outputs, etc.. A different sales associate grabs the box, and the other 2 right in front of my associate and myself and loads them onto a stock cart, 3 feet infront of me, then he grabs all of the 55in bundles! I'm staring confused, we ask what he's doing - points to a guy on his cell phone up the isle and says he just bought everyone they had in stock. SERIOUSLY! Pretty sure some Ebay Capitalism was happening before my eyes but I was too ticked off to ask.

So I had to drive to Saint Peters MO that night to get my bundle.. Worth it? yep. Do it again? yep. 3D is awesome

Sorry that you had a hard time getting the deal that was listed on the net. Some BB associates can be real "iceholes", if you know what I mean. I've got a BB near me about 2 miles away in Irvine. That store sucks big time. I clipped a $10 coupon for a blu ray movie. I go there to buy it. Went up to the checkout and the clerk tells me that I have to go through the "Return" line to use the coupon. I said, "You're kidding me... right?" Nope, dead serious. So, like an idiot, I went through the return line, where there were 4 people in front of me. I waited and waited and waited some more. I was fumming. Talking about pissed off... I bet my eyes were bloodshot from being so pissed. Anyway, I finally got up to the counter and the clerk had to verify the coupon was legit. He went on line to see if the $10 was real. That took another 5 mintues. I was boiling by that time. I ask to see the manager and when he saw me and noticed how pissed I was, he asked if everything was okay. I told him (loudly) that it will be a cold day in hell before I come back to this lousy store. The people behind me heard it all. Could you imagine making someone buy a movie in the return line? That was the last time I was in that store and that was about a year ago. Fortunately, I have another BB store about 5 miles from me that is really a good store. Never a hassle with this store. When I go in with a coupon, no problem...

Thanks for sharing your story... good one.

The price tag still said 29.99 - I paid 9.99. Thank you in store ad located at the door showcasing the deals the store didn't know about!

I did pay 29.99 for #1 though, haven't seen either and didn't want one without the other. So 20 a piece, I'm good with that.
