Warner Bros Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 3D Blu-ray (2010/2011) [Region Free]

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 & 2 3D Blu-ray

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows 3D: Part 1 and Part 2 Blu-ray

Just got this info less than thirty minutes ago.

'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' will not be released in 3D(This information comes courtesy of the MarketSaw 3D Blog site)!

All of the information is on the site(and probably elswhere by the time I've finished penning this). It seems that Warner Brothers, having learned a hard lesson with 'Clash of the Titans', have decided to pull the plug on converting HPatDH.

However, one has to wonder about part 2; maybe they'll be able to do a conversion in time for the release date(approximately eight months after part 1).

The blogger ends by saying that they may decide to convert it for the Home Entertainment Market(that's us!).

John.

Im sure we will eventually see this movie in 3D. Warner realized the damage they did to the 3D brand with the awful conversion Clash of the Titans recieved and have thus not allowed another crap conversion to hurt the 3D market. In that way they made the right choice.

However work and money was put into converting it to 3D so I really can't imagine Warner letting that work go to waste. Warner should finish the conversion and release the movie on Blu-Ray 3D in July to meet the release Part 2. Reportedly Clash of the Titans recieved additional conversion work for its 3D Blu-Ray release and it only makes sense to not allow such an investment to go completely to waste.

Im very dissipointed by this news but at the same time Im glad that the industry seems to have learned the lessons of Clash of the Titans and it seems like we have gotten the lesser of 2 evils with this decision.

I'm fine with this. I'd rather them take their time and get it right, and NOT delay the movies release, rather than throw a rush job at it, or delay the movie for it, OR both!

That's actually half right. Only part 1 of this film will be in 2D. When part 2 comes out, that'll be in 3D.

Word is the reason for the decision is that some of the effects are still being completed and thus could not have been converted in time.

Default Harry Potter series receiving 3D conversions

Warner has announced the Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheniox and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince will be completely converted to 3D. Both featured 20 minutes of converted 3D in IMAX theatres.

Warner cancelled the 3D version of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 due to time constraits and the need to avoid a second Clash of the Titians. However its obvious much time and money has been invested in that conversion and it only makes sense to still try to profit off it as well. Hopefully Warner will have both parts for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finished before there Blu-Ray releases are ready.

I don't think I could have handled all those scenes with the snake jumping into your face in 3D - those gave me mini heart attacks in 2D...

'Chamber of Secrets' though has tons of scenes that would look fantastic in 3D!

But will the studio spend enough time and money on this to make them look great.

Great! - I'd say that is a "fer sure" that Warner will follow with both in the US as well.

...But what about the UK?

I would have thought that, being a totally UK product in every sense of the word(save for the releasing studio), such information as this would have taken first place here in the UK.

Sorry Mexico but that's how I feel about it.

While I can't fault Mexico for getting it(any country getting such a high profile movie--and in 3D too!--deserves it), I would have thought that JKR would have had something to say about where it should be released first.

That's my two pennies worth.
John.

Hopefully Warner Bros spent the extra money and finished off the 3D conversion for Deathly Hallows Part 1.

We're definitely getting part 2 in 3D when it's released in UK! It's listed on Amazon but you can't preorder yet!

Edit; My mistake, that's the US import!
