It's not just the one part, it does it throughout the whole disc.

I was kind of hoping to find a way around having to send it back.
I was hoping someone else has had similar problems and knew of some sort of trick to get it working.

Casino Royale should not require the latest firmware update.

Just double check that there are absolutely no smudges or scratches on the disc. Also make sure the disc didn't get warped in the mail.

Other than that, I don't know what to tell you. I've never heard of anyone having difficulty with Casino Royale, so the problem is with the actual disc you have.

That's the risk with Netflix, especially given how dense the data is packed on a Blu-ray disc. It's easier for an abused Blu-ray disc to crap out than a regular DVD. Better luck next time.

Yeah, I definitely have the latest firmware. I've tried all sorts of things to get around the problem. I pressed the display button to see just what it was doing. It would play to around 13 minutes and 30 seconds and then freeze, while the timer skipped to 15, 16, and 17 minutes, all without the screen changing. Then it would come back at 18 minutes through. One second Bond is chasing a black guy up a crane, and the next he's on the ground, surrounded by guys with guns and holding a gun to someone's head!

its not your player. I used to have that problem when I used netflix which is the main reason I cancelled my subscription with them. Your just gonna have to send it back and tell them it skips

Crap, now I have to wait even longer to see it! I've been trying for hours now to do everything I can, I just don't think anything will work.

Hopefully the replacement copy will work.

If you tell Netflix you need a replacement they will mail out a new one immediately (you won't have to wait for them to get the old one back).
Royale played fine in my PS3 when I got it (from Netflix) -- that was back when it first came to video, so I am not sure which firmware was current then -- although that does not seem to be your problem.

That disc must really be messed up 'cause on the normal copy in that scene he's chasing a group of horny teenagers with a machette.

ha ha but seriously it's just a bad disc. If you have a Fred Meyer in your area you can pick that movie up in a BOGO right now if it's a title that you'd like to own.

I'm pobably going to get it through Amazon's sale they have going on right now. That Netflix disc was just a bad disc, no amount of cleaning did anything to help.

I heard boiling them doesn't work well

what kind of player do you use.... is it a heat problem, did you try another BD....
