How are you doing today Al?

It's cold here today. I think I'm going to have a nice hot shower, then go out and have some lunch, and then go trade a few of my crappier BD's for some good ones.

I'm doing ok. We are now getting into our balls to the wall season of rentals. I have orders for 48 laptops, 67 laptops, 270 laptops, and just got together 80 19" monitors with 45 keyboards and mice. Will have to go to Birmingham third week of May with 100 laptops and 50 printers for a 3 day event.

If you don't buy crappy BDs then you would not have to trade them.

Wow, it sounds like you have way too much going on!

I used to do a lot more blind-buys than I do now days. I'll probably just unload about 5 or 10 BDs, and hopefully bring home 2 to 5 new ones. I haven't bought any new BDs at all in quite a while, so it will be nice to have a couple of fresh ones. I'll report back in with my haul when I get back home in a few hours.

You should make a list before you go. That is what I do. I get to the store or the rental place and have one big brain fart. I just go to the new release calender here on BR.com before heading out.

I used to carry a list of titles that I wanted to get in my wallet so that I wouldn't have the brain fart problem, but now my wishlist has become so much shorter that I don't really need one.

I traded in:
Mimic
Children of Men
Forbidden Planet
Gary Moore: Live at Montreux

I didn't really dislike any of those titles, but they just never really grabbed me much when I was looking for something to watch, and I thought it would be better to put them towards getting some stuff that I really wanted, so I got:
Apollo 13: Universal 100th Anniversary Edition
Psycho: 50th Anniversary Edition
Stargate: 15th Anniversary Edition
The Adventures of Tintin: Brand New Edition

I really didn't notice how much 'Anniversary Edition' stuff I bought until just now, while typing it in.

I have seen 'Apollo 13' many times, and have borrowed my friends BD copy before, so I know that I'll be happy that, and I've seen 'Psycho' and 'Stargate' many times, but not on BD, but they are both highly rated for their A/V quality on BD. 'The Adventures of Tintin' was a blind buy, but it is highly rated for the A/V quality, and it looks like my kind of movie.

Edit: I also bought the book: 'A Song of Ice and Fire: Game of Thrones' after buying and watching the 1st season on BD. I think the show is great, and hopefully the books will be as good, or even better.

How's it going Russ?

If you check out their public profile, you can see that they joined up last night, and proceeded to post 8 posts within 12 minutes, then vanished. I assumed it was a spammer, but we'll see.

Those are all keepers! I think. Not sure about Tin Tin, haven't seen the movie yet. I still need Apollo 13, but need it from here with the subtitles for the wife.

What's up Travis.

I kind of forgot about Apollo 13 for a while, but I love that movie. I also really can't wait for 'The Right Stuff' to come out on BD.

How's the experiment coming along? I've been doing a little spackling, sanding and painting last night and today. I hope to get it done soon, because I plan on doing a lot of lazy laying on the couch and watching movies tonight.

It's been raining today, which is a great day to stay in and play with the gear. I'm just waiting for the wife to leave... lol

I'm going to be pretty lazy with things while working on it. I plan to re-listen to some stuff, get it in my head, setup, and re-run audyessy.

StalkerVette is been saying good things about these amps, he has a few of them, and said he might get more.

I got a little busy yesterday, then got a little lazy after that, and watched a couple of movies. I'm glad that your new experiment seems to be working out for you.

I'm glad you had a good time. It sucks that it has to end, but I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures. Even though I'm sure you had fun, sometimes it's nice to get home, and relax on your own couch or bed.

After doing some work/repairs around the house yesterday, that's what I did. I watched Tintin for the first time. I really enjoyed it, and the A/V was really great, but it did seem a tiny bit light on the LFE overall, but there were a few really good kabooms here and there.

So, far, I listened and listened, and everything is great, but the next test is a weird one. It's the not paying attention one, if that makes any sense.

That is one of the things that the 5008 has done and impressed me. I will have the system playing a movie, while I’m doing something else, and I will hear things that I didn’t pay attention to before, because I was concentrating so hard on other things.

I think I understand what you're saying. You're trying to shut down the analytical part of your brain that wants to measure and compare everything, so that you can try to just take in the visceral experience of the moment, and experience everything as a whole, or something like that.
