Just a tad lol, I think it is way beyond that, a movie is definitely something to get that worked up over lmao, but anyways day 1 purchase for me, at least we are getting these great flicks, I do not care how they are released, just that they are getting released.

Been looking forward to that one on Blu-ray. Definitely a cult classic, and an absolute tour-de-force from Industrial Light & Magic's matte department.

I'm wondering what kind of master Fox has for this movie. The DVD was decent but of course can be improved upon. And the 70MM 4.1 mix was different from the 35MM 2.0 mix, the DVD also had both.

It's one of the best horror remakes. If you enjoyed the original, you should like the remake as well. I anticipate a Fright Night style sellout for this.

Enemy Mine is a good film, but almost nobody has heard of it... This is the first Twilight Time release that has really tempted me, as I actually can't imagine this movie selling very well except to the handful of die-hard fans. I always stop and watch whenever this is on a movie channel.

Night of the Living Dead surprises me. Even though it is the remake from 1990, I still have to think this would sell really well especially with the Walking Dead being partially inspired by the original Romero movie. This should sell out.

I know it won't happen... but I've always said that whomever releases the 1990 remake really ought to look into a new master for the 1968 original and release as a 2-disc set. The 1968 original is public domain, so no royalties or anything to deal with beyond getting a master of the movie... and you couldn't sell those fast enough if it were a 2-disc set like that.

Enemy Mine is the only film I want from this new batch. I LOVE that film and even own an original one-sheet movie poster and lobby card set from that film.

Nice. I'm in for Night of the Living Dead '90 and Enemy Mine for sure. Keep the horror and sci-fi coming, Twilight Time!!

Well, that's just your opinion...man.

Tons of people agree that this company's business practices aren't very good for consumers.

Tons of people will agree the moon landings were faked, Hitler survived World War II, and that Walt Disney was frozen after his death.

In other words, meaningless.

Either you want the blu-ray or not at all. Twilight Time isn't getting titles that would otherwise be issued by the companies in question. It's either TT issues them or they don't exist. The price they charge are what normal BD prices cost when pressed in such limited quantities. Disney BDs retail for $40-$50 but you don't pay that because of wide distribution and other perks TT doesn't get. You're spoiled by cheap titles freely available from other companies, don't blame TT for the reality of the market.

You're way too defensive, also I would happily pay near retail for a movie I've been anticipating on Blu-Ray. However, since I don't have a job...I really can't spend this kind of money for movies with very little extras other than a crappy magnet. Also "reality" is more of a perception, TT and SONY could have a distorted vision of it.

About the contract the company has, I'll quote Seinfeld. That's not going to be good for business, that's not going to be good for anybody.

[QUOTE=oildude;6039936]I am also having doubts about keeping up a complete TT collection. I suppose this was bound to happen at some point.

Enemy Mine is good, I saw it on DVD years ago and enjoyed it as a rental. I have not felt a need to revisit is since then, however. I was really hoping the next sci-fi flick was going to be Fantastic Voyage or even my second choice Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. That would have set off a whole bunch of jubilant "dancing banana" smilies. Hopefully, FV and VTTBOTS are coming soon. I will get Enemy Mine, just not terribly excited about it.

Please dont take this the wrong way but if youre not terribly excited about it and enjoyed it as a rental, why on Earth are you going to buy it ?

Maybe the poster seemed defensive because this topic has been beaten to death and most people are sick of discussing the Twilight Time business model every single time a new person hears about it.

Honestly? You are not Sony and TT's target demographic. You are unemployed and don't have as much disposable income as someone who is employed. Not every product is marketed toward you. You don't see me complaining because I can't afford to buy a Cartier Watch. I work hard and make a pretty good income. However, I know that I am not the target demographic for a $6,000 watch because the cost goes beyond what I could ever afford to pay for a watch.

Thumbs up

Employed or not $35.00 can be a little pricey for disposable income for a BluRay that has no extras. It really depends on the individual and the budget.
Not taking sides, just putting in my worthless 2 cents worth.
One way I save a few bucks is trading movies to Amoeba records and getting a title for less

Not terribly excited as in it is worth buying to me, but it isn't a top tier favorite that I eagerly am waiting on from Fox.

Fantastic Voyage gets this

Enemy Mine gets this

I don't recall a lot about the film other than I liked it and it reminded me of a sci-fi remake of Hell in the Pacific with an alien (Louis Gossett Jr) and a human (Dennis Quaid) forced to make their peace with each other and cooperate on a hostile planet.

Maybe I could have used a better choice of words

Unless TT releases something I know I dislike or have zero desire to own, my plan is to get them all. So far they have been the only company I can say that about. I used to get every Criterion blu-ray, but then some came along that cured me of any notions of being a completist.

That's my vice and I'm sticking to it

Speaking of Dennis Quaid, Id like Innerspace from Warner to get a blu release. This movie has the honor of being the first widescreen VHS

Not quite: The Color Purple was presented by Warner in widescreen.

Before that, Woody Allen's Manhattan was also presented in letterbox widescreen format on VHS.

Honestly, the only way to win an argument on the internet is to ignore the someone you disagree with.

If you are so sick of discussing it, stop discussing it.

I'm unemployed too but am the proud owner of all of TTs releases so far.

Of course, I live in Australia where we have a wonderful welfare system, so I can still afford them.

Really? I would guess that most people I know would know what Enemy Mine is.

I think some frustration about the TT release model is caused by the fact it seems to be changing - I thought the remit was to provide films from the early cinemascope era - films that probably wouldn't find an audience, but with the releases of films like Steel Magnolias, and As Good As It Gets it now looks like the model is to take films that Studios like Universal and Paramount would release as 10 quid budget releases, and try to fleece people with OCD.
