Default Ok everybody, lets take a deep breath about Paramount

Ok everyone,

I realize that when Penton-Man made his remark that there were more announcements to come, a lot of people assumed he was talking about Paramount and people started speculating that an announcement could come by friday.

I think that is unlikely for several reasons:

1. Bill Hunt has said it likely wont happen until March or April at latest.
2. Another "insider" who will remain nameless also told me this in an email.

Paramount IS coming, but dont expect an announcement by friday.

Lets calm down, while we wait for some more good news in the mean time.

Yeah, really. People need to chill on rumors and speculation. I search the forums in the hopes of finding good info or at least rational debate over certain possibilities but end up feeling obligated to drop a dryly sarcastic comment to leave everybody as confused as I am by the time I go. For some reason each individual seems to think their spin on it needs it's own thread.

For real, you all worrying about it isn't gonna make them switch any faster. So talk about something that's relevent to the present.

Uh Ooooh! Someone just opened the flood gates!

Seriously... we do a ton of waiting and speculation on this site. I think we are all used to it. No worries. It comes when it comes.

Hey,

Not that it really matters right... They just moved one of the biggest titles Star Trek Season 2 back till "summer" when word is they move in March or April.

It's like they are working for Blu already. They more or less cancelled Star Trek Season 2. And Universal hardly releases anything and when they do it's bare bones weak PQ stuff like what I hear about American Gangster (one of the last HD DUDs). Actually I think WB is the only studio still actively trying to help HD DUD at all and that's likely just out of obligation by contract.

Yet all of them stated over and over..... WB would not be going blu exclusive anytime before or during CES and it would probably be a month or more afterward....

Why does everyone keep saying this just happened? I knew they'd pushed back Star Trek season 2 months ago. I thought it was common knowledge, but it seems like this is all I read today

Like I said, if Im wrong and they are saying this just to temper everyone's excitement, Ill gladly take a blu beatdown!

If Paramount does indeed go blu by friday, a blu beatdown would be worth it.

Fair enough?

Honestly, my guess is Universal since MSNBC said today that Blu-ray won the format war, and MSNBC is owned by Microsoft and Universal.
