I'm not worthy!

I thought I might as well make the effort to fix it back up since so many others were fixing up their threads. Didn't want to look lazy

Ugh...zombies. Me no likey zombies

I bet at least a third (turd? ) of the DLC for BLOPS 2 will be zombie stuff.
This is another reason why I don't think I'll be renewing Elite

It's been confirmed in an interview over at CVG.co.uk that Black Ops 2 will have a Zombies Campaign. The Treyarch guys didn't make a big deal out of it, just stated it quite simply. This is ever-so-slightly awesome, though what form it will take i don't know.

"And then there's Treyarch's usual stamp of silliness, Zombie Mode. It'll be longer, promoted from a handful of stages to a full-length campaign, and doubles the co-op count from four to eight. Like last time, famous faces are bound to drop in. Expect the likes of J.F.K., Nixon, and Fox News political commentator (and, controversially, dealer of illegal weapons to Iran in the 80's) Oliver North. And possibly Danny Trejo."

So there ya have it. Zombies campaign. At last!

I'm amazed they havent just released zombies as a stand alone game!

But I guess they're scared that it would kill sales of Black Ops since 90% of people only go on about how much they love zombies in treyacrh cods lol.

Would you be satisfied if a quarter of the maps were zombies? Or a fifth? Just curious what it would take to get you back on Elite?

Default Zombies!

Treyarch’s Daniel Suarez talked at length about Black Ops 2‘s Zombie Mode in a recent interview, revealing that this year’s entry will contain competitive game modes as well as co-operative.

In the first Black Ops, players could either play alone or with three friends as they tried to fend off waves of zombies. This original mode will return in Black Ops 2, however this time it has been rebuilt from the ground up to include competitive varieties.

One example Suarez mentioned was a zombie survival mode, in which two teams of four players play in a regular zombies game to see who can survive the longest. Zombie Wager matches were also discussed as a possibility, with teams being asked to perform certain tasks during the match, such as the player that kills the most zombies in the round gets the winnings.

Zombie Mode needed a re-work to prevent it from getting stale in Black Ops 2, and it appears that Treyarch has discovered exactly how to do it. The idea of wagers sounds really interesting and should spice up gameplay, especially in the early rounds when zombies are scarce. The only thing that Treyarch has to be careful of is diluting the co-operative experience, if people are focusing on being the best then they are likely to forget to help out teammates.

You would think there'd be a separate zombie game like Red Dead Redemption but for Black Ops...

All things considering the previews certainly have mirrored exactly like how the game is supposed to look on previous COD releases...from what I observed anyway!

But consider it that way, SMP, Activision wil sell more copies of Black Ops 2 by including Zombies than if they released a separate game. And the amount of effort and development that would need to be financed to create a game worthy of a £40 price tag simply isn't feasable.

We are getting a Zombies campaign and i'm willing to bet that we will defacto return to familiar locations to tell the story of how Tank, Nikolai etc ended up in Japan in Shi No Numa, and what Richtofen and Maxis were upto with Griffin Station and Der Reise (amongst other locations). That's all i can think of.

I do hope that the zombie campaign is well worth the time and wait with a lengthy campaign rather than a "That's it?" feel lol!!

The reason for 'revisiting locations' is actually quite straightforward, once you consider it. Basically, Treyarch/Activision aren't going to dump 10 new Zombies levels into the lap of Zombies fans from Day One. If they did, the fans wouldn't buy any future Zombies DLC or at least be slow to do so. Secondly, by using old maps/locations it offloads the amount of work that needs to be done by a huge amount. Use Verruckt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese but expand them to the same size of a Single Player Campaign level.

That way Activision gets both the sales with Black Ops 2 and secures future DLC for Zombies.
