I'm just curious why your versions of the screengrabs look like someone took the sharpness and cranked it to objectionable levels. If you did it just to show the aliaising, that makes sense, but your versions of the screengrabs look like overcooked versions of Mr. Brown's. If my picture looks like your version of the screengrabs, as opposed to Mr. Brown's, I'm going to be alarmed.

There's just no sense in doing this kind of overhaul for a movie like Treasure Planet.
I'm just pointing out that the issue is there. I know why it looks that way, but it's a shame. I'm sure they have the original elements, they just didn't bother fixing it - not that I'm surprised by this.

Did you open the screenshots to see the whole 1080p frame? I just downloaded them from the review, drew the circles and reuploaded them. If you think I "manipulated" the results, just watch the original screenshot at the places I'm pointing at.

Maybe a byproduct of resize from the ~1200 x 2000 1.66 EU PA section of the CAPS 1280 x 2048 1.6 file to ~1080 x 1800 1.66 BD instead of 1:1 pixel transfer from the 1080 x 2000 US 1.85 PA 35mm theatrical to 1080 x 1920 1.78 BD to appease all that would say exhibited in 1.66 instead of 1.85 or 1.78 and start internet OAR ruckus? ;>

Ugh. To complement the IINKY-less Pocahontas Blu, I decided to seek out the 10th Anniversary DVD as well, and ordered from Barnes & Noble which, according to Google Shopping, had it in stock. Arrived Monday... but all signs point to a bootleg. Now I have to return it, report it, and all that hassle. Sigh...

That sucks, been there. Exactly there actually, the first time I bought the Pocahontas 10th Anniversary DVD online it turned out to be a bootleg too. Luckily I found a real one eventually, got it for about $10.

Just saw this at tumblr.

[Show spoiler]

I am excited and a bit worried at the same time. I mean, I've been wanting Disney to make this movie for a very very long time. My first disappointment was when they announced it would be CG not hand-drawn. Then when I heard that the people behind Tangled where to work it, I was really worried. But recently when they announced Idina Menzel to be the voice for the queen, things started to look up. Now, with this, I'm just worried they'll focus a lot of the princess aspect of the story. Hopefully they won't. Also, I wouldn't mind having a non-musical disney movie. Brave and Treasure Planet were pretty good without music. Plus, it doesn't drive some audience away. If it was a musical, all I ask is for Disney to bring in Stephen Schwartz, the lyricist is a genius. (Pocahontas+Hunchback)

Oh this is fantastic. Another white princess that's going to steal the spotlight and replace one of the colored princesses in the merchandise.

**** you, Disney, seriously, **** you. NO MORE PRINCESSES!!

Wait, I thought Frozen was supposed to be a full-blown musical? Did they change it recently?

Has anyone heard some of the work from the couple working on the music? It's a shame that we're getting a powerhouse like Idina, and aren't backing it up with some bigger names. Hopefully the two they've got are up to the task. Last time Disney had Idina in a movie, they got Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz to collaborate (which must be quite a feat, since I've heard that while they don't mind collaborating, neither would be the other's first choice). And guess what? Idina didn't have any songs!

Also, while we're on Frozen, does anyone else absolutely hate that title? Even worse than "Tangled"?

It will be a musical. The couple who is creating the music worked on Winnie the Pooh and they have made various successful plays if I recall correctly. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt, since at first I was disappointed with Newman working on PatF and he took me completely by surprise while Menken did the exact opposite on Tangled.

I believe Costco has their majority of the disney movies if not all of their disney movies on sale , if i remember right, blu-ray combos are 16.99 or 17.99, and 3D combo packs are 23.99.

My wife was driving by Costco when I read this -- I called her and she just picked up 3-D Blus for Toy Story, Toy Story 3, and Cars 2 -- thank you so much DisneyFreak! For the record, the prices above are accurate after an $8.00 rebate...but the rebate is instant, taken off the price at the counter!

Also, they had all of the avilable Studio Ghibli blus there as well.

So now, my my Disney Blu collection is only dragging The Lion King (3-D), Beauty and the Beast (3-D) and Toy Story 2 (3-D).

Thanks again, DisneyFreak!

Yeah, Kenneth Brown should receive the BR.com equivalent of the Purple Heart for pounding that one out...I just have to say, I disagree with his ratings of the actual songs. Turn off the monitor and listen to them on their own. Bonnie Raitt's take on "Will the Sun Ever Shine Again" is heart-stopping -- watch it wih the movie on, you can barely concentrate on the lyrics. It's like the movie had no faith in itself, including its music (EASILY its best feature). The songs are wonderful. The visual expression of those songs make them look like someone played a radio while the movie was on.

I'm here to report a "Buyer's Beware" (for importers) on UK re-released Pinocchio blu-ray: It is NOT region-free as advertised.

So now that I'm supposedly getting my refund, I get this message before confirming it:

"Take package to post office or other mailing service. You will need to pay for return postage costs. Because your return is the result of an error on our part, estimated return delivery costs of up to £8.09 associated with your return will be refunded to you. "

What does that mean exactly? Does that mean they'll refund me with an extra £8.09 or is that in part of my return or is that all I'm getting for my refund?

I've read it over so many times and still don't get it - must be 'cause it's late. Was suppose to enjoy this movie as my late night viewing too
