Default What are the best looking BD titles in your collection?

The best looking titles in my collection have got to be

1)Kingdom of Heaven (this was one of the first BD discs i ever saw and thought that some of the scenes looked almost fake cause they were so crystal clear!!!)

2)Sunshine (one of my favorite movies right now! sooo good!)

3)Pan's Labyrinth (the 1.85:1 ratio looks so nice on the 50")

4)Underworld: Evolution (the first BD i ever saw. I was skeptical that it would look much different than DVD. Boy was i so wrong and blown away!!)

Nope thats not true. It just depends on the aspect ratio that the flim was filmed in. If you want to avoid the "blackbars" then only get films with the 1.85:1 ratio (16:9, thats ratio for widescreen tvs) The ones with "blackbars" are filmed in 2.35:1 ratios or higher. So yeah just check the back of the BD cases it will tell you which one the movie is in.

I don't beleive we have ever discussed the black bar issue before. How do I get rid of them? They are cutting off the picture. I want the whole picture to fill my TV. I bought a larger TV a year ago thinking that the black bars would then go away but they are still there! What gives?

I'll keep you guys posted incase you are all having the same problem which you must be unless my settings on the Panny BD player are off or something. I feel better already. Be back tomorrow with the great news!

Youll have to get a TV with a 2.35:1 ratio not 16:9 like most widscreen TVs. Im not even sure if such a tv is made. That would be the only way to get rid of black bars.
