How long did it take you to finish HR?

Maybe 2 or 3 days, since I also had a bunch of BD's arrive from Amazon. The game is not that long. But the branching paths and the moral (and split second) decisions make it worth it. I'm currently replaying it and things are playing out a bit differently since I don't remember exactly how I accomplished certain scenarios (the conversation in the convenience store comes to mind) and doing far better in others ( for instance, butterfly was much easier to accomplish since I remembered the approach I figured out).

If you haven't played it, I highly recommend it. It's not perfect (some of the writing is off and there's also some spotty acting) but the ambition and mood make it a very satisfying experience.

Default Broken Sword: The Serpent's Curse

Good news adventure fans! English developer Revolution Software (Lure of the Temptress, Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword, In Cold Blood) are developing an all-new 2D point-and-click style Broken Sword!

They're hoping to complete development independent of a publisher so they've started a kickstarter campaign:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...urse-adventure

So far fans have pledged $293,843 of the $400,000 target. Pledging at least $15 guarantees you a DRM free download copy on PC and Mac once released.

The game'll be released for Mac, PC (Win/Linux), iOS and Android. They're hoping to do console versions later but can't promise anything.

(yeah, hopefully they improve George's head, no complaints about Nico's!)

Interest in the game just went up big. No crappy QTE's. Hopefully the new gameplay mechanics are much better than Heavy Rain's gameplay.

Beyond: Two Souls won't play anything like Heavy Rain, Cage promises. In the cinematic adventure game, players will take control of both the supernaturally gifted Jodie — played by Ellen Page — and Aiden, the intangible entity that can travel places and behave in ways a human character can't. There are no QTEs, Cage says. Instead, Beyond will introduce new gameplay mechanics that offer similar advantages, but "play more in line with what gamers expect" from a modern action-adventure game.

Cage says that perception of Heavy Rain's QTE-heavy gameplay turned off potential players, even though Quantic Dream received "very positive feedback" about their implementation.

Development on Beyond is nearing its conclusion, Cage said, and Quantic Dream expects to have an internal beta version of the game playable soon.

He said pretty much the same at E3 last year.

Although that off screen Gameplay Demo that leaked sure as hell did have QTE prompts that looked just like Heavy Rains.

Yeah, that is what I though.. Looked like prompting again.

One of my biggest disappointments was the degradation of Uncharted's gameplay from Drakes Fortune to Uncharted 3 in the melee department.
