Warner didn't veer away from Tuesdays for The Dark Knight, any of the Harry Potters, or LOTR. What makes The Dark Knight Rises so "special"?

Definitely gonna pick this up day 1, hopefully they don't destroy my pocket book with a bunch of different special editions. I already have 6 different copies of The Dark Knight, and 4 Batman Begins

Sounds about right. The Dark Knight came out on Blu-ray in early December 2008. I assume this will have the IMAX footage in 1.78:1 unlike the M:I-GP debacle.

Mutli-aspect movies suck if you have a CIH setup. It is also a bad idea for the future as 2.35:1 Tv's are starting to come out.

I wish they'd offer both the IMAX version and the constant aspect ratio version. But, as they didn't do that for TDK, I don't expect they'll do it here. Hopefully, at least, TDKR will have a much better transfer than its predecessor.

The two-disc DVD set has the movie in 2.40:1. Disc 2 offers the IMAX sequences in their original camera ratio of 1.43:1.

Well both versions on each format would be preferable.

Dont cry about the edge enhancement when the disc comes out.
The Digital IMAX I saw had some heavy haloing in a few scenes...

...and that makes it okay?

All they have to do is take the 35mm shots from the regular version, and that wouldn't be a problem.

I'd have to believe that they'll take the complaints about TDK PQ into account this time around. Or, at least, I hope...

Both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows were released on a Friday.

They've been out. But since almost all films shot before 1953 are 1:33 to 1, and the academy "standard" is 1.85:1, a 2.35:1 TV would be just a hindrance for the majority of films out there, unless you like black boxes on the sides.
