I was reading the back of an XBOX 360 game at my friends house last night and it said it supported 720p / 1080i / 1080p. Can the XBOX 360 display 1080p for games? And if not, why would they put this on the game package?

Well some televisions (few) can accept 1080p via Component cables. But this is not mainstream. True 1080p is via HDMI which is pretty much industry standard now and as we all know, the 360 does not have HDMI... yet. So, no matter what the box says, it's not truely 1080p. They put it on the box because it's M$

It seems the 360 just upscales to 1080p. It doesn't appear to be able to have native 1080p games.

On a side note, my TV said 1080p when I was watching a DVD on it. It is a bad idea though. My ISF tech said it is completely inaccurate for upscaling DVDs.

The 360 Sucks balls for a DVD player. Yes I still have one. No I am not a PS3 Fanbois.

Too much confusion. Go to the X-Box website and contact tech support either by phone or e-mail. That's what I did.
