Default Pioneer all the way

The Kuro all the way! Best black levels and sheer color accuracy! I probably would rank the Samsung slightly ahead of the Panasonic. Keep in mind I am a custom av business owner and have been selling all three brands since they hit the market back in 98.

Then you should take the Kuro off your list? Seriously, quality-wise the Pioneer is best IMO, but at a premium. For me it is worth it but I'm sure many won't agree. Now if I wasn't gonna pay for that premium and the choice would be between the current Panny and Sammy I'd go with the Panny. Just remember that no panel is perfect and its all about compromises.

I like the Pioneer. Don't own one because when I bought my HDTV, I was afraid my kids would put a hole through a plasma (they're still little). But I researched them heavily and it was certainly my 1st choice for PQ.

FYI - don't buy them at Best Buy. WAY too expensive. That Kuro is over $1000 less at Vann's.

i have heard pioneer is best (especially for blacks) but what is everyone's opinion?

and should i wait for these prices to go down, or are they as low as they are going to get?
I know that has soon as my roommate moves away from the basement (hoping this will be this fall), I'm getting the Pionner (PDP-5010FD) or the newer model (if it's out)... On a scale Pionner > Panasonic > Samsung

By the way bestbuy (canada) has a 10% sale on TVs next Monday (Feb 25) from 6pm to 9pm... So you could have it at 3600$

Pioneer plasmas have better picture quality than Panasonic plasmas but the Panasonic will be a better value. The Samsung plasmas are really at the bottom of this selection and I would only recommend getting a Samsung plasma if some incredible discount shows up.
