I guess that's something to do with Beorn and his host of helpful animals (but there certainly weren't any sled-pulling rabbits in the book, so it's one of Jackson's nonsense fabrications).

No it's not - that's just a (very) temp image taken from the scroll. As wonderful as it is that won't be the artwork, especially as that segment of the story is 95% confirmed not to be in the first film.

We still have at least one theatrical poster to be releaed yet, probably about late October. That'll probably be the blu-ray artwork but even that won't be announced until after the release of the film.

I might as well wait for the whole trilogy to come out on blu ray (2014) then get the box set

It hasn't got a runtime yet - there have been guesses of 123 minutes, 2 and a half hours and anything else over the past couple of weeks but there's all just unofficial guesses.

Peter Jackson only started the final edit on Saturday, there won't be a running time for a while.

Quoted from the Hobbit book:

Beorn clapped his hands, and in trotted four beautiful rabbits pulling a splendid wood chariot. Beorn said something to them in a queer language like animal noises turned into talk.

This is what he promised to do for them. He would provide rabbits for each of them, and a horse for Gandalf, for their journey to the forest, and he would lade them with food to last them for weeks with care.... Water, he said, they would not need to carry this side of the forest.... 'But your way through Mirkwood is dark, dangerous and difficult,' he said....

I just read the book a year ago and forgot that part.

Anybody know what size these rabbits are supposed to be? I have been wondering lately just what those big ass eagles eat to maintain there huge size.

And I guess that GIANT wabbits ought solve that mystery.

The Hobbit mega trailer I put together. I tried to put as much of the available footage, into one semi-coherent video.

I recently listened to the Audible book with Christopher Lee narrating. Top notch narration and an excellent story. It is basically a fleshed out version of the Silmarillion chapter concerning Turin, but this is far more detailed. I highly recommend it if you haven't read/heard it.
