Default Seems theres no red in my picture..

Im using a PS3 with the 60gb hard drive to watch my blu ray movies. Seems that theres no red what so ever in my picture. Has anyone else experienced this or does anyone have any suggestions? Its currently connected to a 51' Hitachi Ultravision tv. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, would there be any quality loss with it being hooked to an AV switcher?

Is it happening with all movies or just one? How is it connected?

if its component cable just switch to HDMI and problem should be solved. other issue may be your calibration or lack there of on your tv.

Since I dont know the proper names for the connectors, Ill have to descibe them. The PS3 is connected to a Psyclone AV switcher with the red, blue and green connectors. From the switcher I used the same type of plugs out to the TV. Its happening on all of my Blu Ray disks, but none of the other componets I have hooked up such as the DVD plaer and the XBOX360.... I know car audio front to back, but Im just getting into the home audio and video end. Thanks in advance!

My first guess would be to make sure you don't have the red component video connector plugged into the red audio input on the switcher.

So now that I fell like a complete idiot, I have red in my picture. I had the red audio plugged in instead of the red video. Guess thats what I get for not double checking my connections. Well at least Im a member of the site now, just wish my first post wouldnt have made me look like a complete tool. Thanks for the help!

Ha, this happened to me when I first got my PS3 they didn't differentiate the audio red prong from the picture red prong. Don't worry, it happens.

yep, it has happened to me too, I haven't run into that problem since I switched to HDMI, less things to remember to plug in.

Welcome to the forum... and no worries about this!
Things like this can happen if you're too excited to hook something up.
I for one complete forgot to connect audio on a DVD player to the receiver once and it took me a good hour to figure out why I didn't get any sound!! D'oH!
