The only one that comes to mind is when Sony offered a replacement disc for "The Fifth Element" blu-ray.

I think the major problem was putting fans hopes up for a proper HD release then being left with this...

This was the first time I've seen the movie and I enjoyed it. I wasn't bothered by the blue tint since I wasn't aware it was a change. However, when I look at the comparisons posted here - the difference is "night and day" as some people have mentioned but the movie is NIGHT of the Living Dead. I don't know - some of those shots seem excessively bright for a movie that is suppose to take place at dusk.

Somehow I don't think Sony holds this movie is as high esteem as The Fifth Element....

in the past soundtrack labels have done disc replacements. Not saying it could happen but since this is sold directly thru SAE replacments could be very easy they simply ship out new discs to the same orders that they shipped to originally. (they would prob press new discs and just send out the disc itself not a new case)

again it could happen.

Not gonna happen, unfortunately, and we're left with a misframed Blue and, as of now, a supposedly botched NOLTD.
Well, when it's a framing issue, they may well have to rescan the entire film, no? When it's just a color/brightness issue, they could possibly just run a basic software filter on it to get it back more like it should be.

The whole film doesn't take place at night. The first 21 minutes are during the day (as does the end of the film).

Probably not. And if I remember correctly, they offered the replacement disc back when blu-ray wasn't popular and still fighting HD-DVD. Since blu-ray won, Sony doesn't seem to care about catalog titles at all.

Forum user "vidjunkie" could fix this easily. Maybe Twilight Time should hire him.

Hopefully people can get their money back since they had no clue what kind of video quality they were getting until they purchased this blu ray, since basically the only way to get this was when it went up for pre-order and no one had the chance to review or see it. I guess that's the problem with this buy it now or else mentality of Twilight Time. Maybe they should at least post some screen shots before these things go up for pre-order so people may at least have a clue what they're getting into.

And how exactly does that get is a proper release of the films?

You quoted me yet failed to even address what I wrote... we're still left with misframed Blue and a supposedly botched version of NOLTD, whether we returnit or not. Nice try, but fail.

I know that is what we all want. Lets wait and see what happens, but this is up to Sony.

I know Twilight Time does not do the transfers i was just being Sarcastic as this thread has become a joke with everyone *****ing like 2 year olds. Bottom line is if you dont like it then return it and watch your DVD for the next 3 years or keep what you have and enjoy that.

sadly, the misfit in me feels that if it's decided "nothing can be done" w/ this release, i WILL send it back for my refund rather than hold on to a tarnished "collector's item." not even selling it off for more money, but sending it BACK. i'm sure the next release w/ have much more in the way of quality control that way...

I agree with the quality control part. TT should be aware of what they are selling and, at the very least, inform its customers when a significant change has been made to the film (prior to purchase)...no doubt.
