Geesh! Sad review for a 40.00+ movie people purchased.

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Night.../42142/#Review

I think the DVD copy will suffice thank you very much. Poor saps who buy it at inflated prices from resellers on the side.

Good one!

I'm going to get off Twilight Time's case. I think I made my point. But in the future when we see something like "Twilight Time hits it out of the park with a dream transfer", hopefully most of us will know better...

The Mill Creek Blu's I have look fine. Especially for $5 a piece. The same with Echo Bridge with exception to 'Halloween: H20'.

Twilight Time's aren't available in stores and are 6 times the price of a Mill Creek or Echo Bridge Blu-ray. Hell, at certain times of the year (like now), a lot of major studio titles are around that price range ($7.88) like MGM, Warner Bros., etc.

If Twilight Time didn't exist, possibly ones like SHOUT! Factory or Olive Films could have gotten titles like 'Night of the Living Dead' from SONY instead of it going to TT.

MSRP might as well be $35 since 99.9% of the time you'll be paying that much anyway. If shipping could be avoided, or you could find it cheaper at another retailer fine, but you have to factor shipping into the cost of the movie when you're getting it directly from the source.

Exactly. Might as well be $35 for all the good it does. Just insane.

I am surprised As Good as It Gets wasn't a sellout title. If you stuck it on the shelf at Wal-Mart or Best Buy for $7.99-$9.99 I bet it would sell a lot more copies than 3,000. As it happened, the types of people who would be into it probably have no idea it exists.

That surprised me as well. But I guess the core audience for the film already has it on DVD and are probably fine with it. Like you said, they probably don't know it exists and even it they did would balk at the price tag.

Eh. The review states it's a 4/5 for image if not for the revisionism. If the revisionism doesn't bother you, which for some of us it doesn't, it's a decent purchase

Yea if SONY gave a shit about there catalog like Warner Bros. or Universal, there would be a profit made. They could release titles like 'As Good As It Gets' on Blu with no extra features for $8 at retail and it would sell.

For $30+, I want a helluva lot better than 'decent'. Paying $53 got me a Universal Monsters 8 Blu-ray disc set WITH a shitload of extras and cool packaging.

For decent, I want a 'decent' price.

MSRP is $159.99 for the Universal Monsters set. Amazon has it marked down 30% to $111.99. You want all movies to be marked down more than 60% with cool packaging in order to be satisfied?

Except that Darkman came out 2 months before NOTLD90. So one has nothing to do with the other.

I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!

Anyway, I've washed my hands of this release, and of Twilight Time.

I returned 9 of the ten copies of NOTLD I ordered due to this fiasco: the USPS tracking is 23002730000101856130, if you have any doubts. I sold just one, and that was a buyer who simply wouldn't be refused. He paid 70. I'd honestly rather have just given them all back. I will not be part of the revisionism, especially when it was unplanned. It's very obvious to me that they were not finished with the coloration, nor the audio. And if they were done, TT had no business or right to sell it without forewarning everyone that it looks like shiite.

Ed, of course, was a complete & total dick via email.....then, not so much when I called him on the phone. What a *****.

I also just sold my Fright Night blu on eBay, at a Buy-It-Now price of $160.

My TT/AGAIG blu is listed on Amazon....below my cost.

I'm such a Harryhausen fanatic, that I've decided to keep Mysterious Island....for now. I may decide that the DVD is good enough, and then I'd be completely free of Twilight Time.

Every single one of you who bought this and "like it" know in your hearts that if this were a widespread/non-limited release, there'd be line-ups of all of us returning them at retail levels.

I'm done with TT. Never again.

I'm sure many of you are quite happy with my decision....and that makes two of us.

I was not clear in my post.

Night of Living Dead I was disappointed about the blu-ray itself (the "tint"), not the film. I enjoyed the film in the past, just that the presentation here sort of annoyed me throughout the entire viewing.

Wayward Bus was a blind buy for me, and I just flat out thought the film itself was horrible. However, the transfer itself and blu-ray presentation were just fine - which is why I said Twilight Time obviously wasn't to blame. Not every film is going to please me the same.

Really wasn't relative to the thread, I was just rambling.

I don't see why you wouldn't just sell them. That's what you originally planned to do with the 10 copies no? I don't see why there would be any moral attachment to doing so since you didn't make the transfer. All you'd have to do is just give a warning or link to some reviews and let buyers make their own choice. It would have been easy money in the bank, which to me is a better way of showing it to TT than just getting a refund. They'll probably jsut sell them on ebay themselves now

I got the UK set for $53. Yes. I'm MORE than satisfied.

Charging $30+ for a barebones movie with a sub-par transfer just because they can, is absurd in this day and age. Yes, barebones. The trailer and commentary are on the DVD with other extras.
