They made another copy and overnighted it to him which means ... there are 3001 copies!!!

Remember that youtube video of the guy that smashed his BD with a hammer? Wonder if anyone here would do that? Then there would only be 2999

lol. He also says my "copies" in reply to Patricia Tillman (see below) which would mean he has more than one, or he just wrote that in error. It really does make me wonder if he's watching the same thing as everyone else, but I guess we'll never truly know unless Savini elaborates more (which he likely will not)

Just got this note from Tom Savini! Made my day. #NOTLD
Tom Savini :Hey Sweetie, I just watched the Blue Ray of our NOTLD90 cause there was a complaint it looked blue. My copies are excellent and look fantastic...BUT i just want to say while watching it again, and somewhat objectively.....you were fabulous.

Raises the question:
In a LE case like this, do surviving filmmakers get a promo copy or is one set aside for them? If so, how many. Just director, or director, DP and writer. What about producers and cast?
I also wonder how Tom went from "blue" to "my copies look fantastic". Maybe Don floated him a copy to watch. I'm almost thinking he watched a stream of the right colors figuring it was the same transfer. That would explain how he got it so quick and was quick to like it, although overnight mail is always there (or maybe Don lives down the street).
Or he just doesn't a flying frick about the film anymore. If someone took one of my old songs and changed the music from funky metal to techno and didn't call it a remix, I'd be pretty ticked!

Exactly my thoughts. Believe me, I'll be quizzing Tom about this entire matter the next time I see him.

Huh? We already have official word from Twilight Time. Nothing is going to happen with the disc. Like it or lump it.

I must weigh in on this. Let's start with this: This is the absolute worst, most pathetic, flawed, botched, ruined, destroyed, amateur Blu-ray that I have EVER seen!!!

There's no fixing this atrocity by any fan edits, or TV settings.

What we have here, is a high school intern working at Sony, who has used an incredibly low quality night filter from After Effects, and has completely 100% destroyed this ENTIRE movie.

Case closed.

From Don May: "It is a different look..... Does this make it right? No, because the film isn't exactly the way the director intended."

Whoever is doing a fan-edit "tweak" to their blu to repair the damage, please PM me. I want one. . . . and I pay.

It's possible.Member "vidjunkie" has tweaked some of the images on here and I believe he will be doing a full makeover of the movie with the BD structure intact (for his personal colleciton not to share however)

Before the edits:

Here's what he's done with them:

BD on right side

BD on right side

BD on left side

BD on left side

remember these are just low rez screen adjusts just to see, I really need my copy(which won't be here until tomorrow or Tuesday) and I need to look at my DVD.

Why do people keep saying birds don't chirp at dusk? Mine do all the time. Isn't it also reasonable to believe that if the dead were rising, that the birds might be a little jittery?

Also with the montage showing the moon rising, it's also reasonable to believe its transitioning from dusk to dark and not day to dark (unless it's actually showing the sun go down, which I didn't see... but could of missed it). It would also make sense for this to not be the middle of the day, because when we do see the moon montage, what the hell were they doing for the last 8 hours?

Barbara's brother also repeatedly states that this was a 200mile drive, which very well could mean that they arrived later in the day.

I thought mine looked great and i liked how the darkness really set the mood, afterall, its night of the living dead, not day of the... although some of the blue could of been toned down (didn't we complain that there wasn't enough blue in Halloween?)

That being said, if the director did in fact say he liked that this was shot at daytime, then it shouldn't have been changed.

Not having much recollection of how it originally looked, Im happy with my copy, but I do feel for the real fans who remember it the other way. Unless a director comes up with a very good reason on why he changed something, just give us the original please...

I think I'll use Sony Vegas to fix this and get a double disc case to store the original copy and my fixed copy. At least it should retain most of the detail, making it better than the DVD.

I plan on working on my own fan edit, but I haven't done this before so it'll be a learning experience for me. I found a few free trials of video editing software, so I'll start there first.

If any of the other folks that are attempting to fix this atrocity could recommend some good video editing software, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Frank Prinzi, the original DP who supervised the transfer of the film he shot, is now back in high school and working as an intern????

Nice try, but no.
