I understand that, but I think the Target Exclusive things are on the DVD because I have not seen the standard "Two-Disc DVD" anywhere, just the Single-Disc Blu-Ray, the Single-Disc DVD, and the Two-Disc Extended Edition Blu-Ray.

Blu-ray.com rates the movie itself in the score. it's just for the reviewer to give his opinion on the film as well as the specs. usually it's not given a WHOLE lot of sway percentage wise in a review

Same here. Some sites are so full of themselves sometimes.

I get that reviewers want to offer up their opinion of a movie as well as offer the A/V and special features/packaging review, but personally I rarely read the film review. If I am note tested in the Blu-ray enough to read the review, it's a given I liked, or at least hated-so-much-I-loved the movie and I don't need someone else shoving their opinion of the film as if to put it as some definitive assessment of the Blu-Ray package.

This is never gong to change, however. YOU try telling a Blu-Ray critic that his/her take on the film is besides the point. Though it would be nice if all that was offered up in the review was a plot synopsis and they straight to the Blu-Ray specific assessment, which is why we are here in the firs place. Then we can avoid the condescending slanted nonsense spilling over into the A/V review like "For a film this horrible, at least it's crisp and sharp. Not that you want to look at the screen since this move is awful." Or "For as shitty as the movie is, it sounds great so you can fill your ears with the awfulness."

It's always fun to be talked down to like that, especially for films some of us actually enjoy. :-)

While I normally don't waste my time reading the movie reviews either (I'm intelligent enough to form _my own_ opinion of whether I like a movie or not), I do kind of like the first paragraph... Just having seen Steel Panther for the first time a couple of weeks ago, I _highly_ recommend anyone that likes 80's hair bands to go see them. It was absolutely hilarious... If you are in LA or Vegas, check them out sometime (in around Dec I think they will be back to playing every weekend...)

It was kind of a 'watch Rock of Ages then see Steel Panther weekend'... Worked perfectly.

It's like if i wanna see the review of the actual movie I'll do that. I don't wanna see someone think their a uppity better then everyone else super skank. So just say if it's good on audio and video or not, along with features and shut it!

but that's the thing. it's a COMPREHENSIVE review. meaing it covers, the movie, the auido, the video etc. you leave one out and the other side wails that it isn't complete. Believe me this same argument has been hashed and re-hashed a million.

Did the same thing! Can't wait to see the movie, AND this neat case!
A shame the US couldn't get this version.

My UK edition has been 'dispatched'. My first Amazon import... interested to see if it makes it here as scheduled for the 15th.

Not worried about the content of film here as the wife and I saw this and liked it. Yes, it could have been better (as with most films) but we thought it was fun and it brought back quite a few memories of being a teenager / young adult in the late 80's with the hair, music, etc. Glad to see the VQ / AQ got decent scores. Looking forward to watching this again.

Yeah...definitely going to have to buy that now lol

I have the regular Two-Disc Extended Edition Blu-Ray coming in, the Two-Disc Special Edition DVD from Target, the Best Buy Exclusive Blu-Ray, and now the UK version.

I thought the 2-disc DVD from Target had the same content as the 2-disc bluray edition.

FWIW:

I love the stage version, I hated the film version. will be a complete masochist and watch the extended cut since I'm curious what they cut.
