You're right... it is pretty good. My girlfriend did a little bit of jumping too. I like it when she does that... make me believe I didn't blow my mula on the 3D blu ray.

Agreed.

Open Season 3D is probably one of the BEST 3D demonstrations of pop out and spectacular 3D depth you will find from a major studio that is a computer animated movie. So far. Highly recommended, and the story isn't too bad either. Great visuals, the broken dam scene with the water washout is incredible.

For 3D, it doesn't get any better IMO.

Hi,
I just re-watched this and i cant believe this was rated only 2 and a half for 3D! Its so much stronger and clearer than most movies these days that i cant make sense of it. It seems ridiculous.

Its also really funny, cute and just a heck of an entertaining film.

ps. I just re-looked and I must have looked at a different one as its a 5 now...ummm, where did i see that?

Yes, 5/5 for Open Season's 3D easily. Better than 95% of other computer animated movies out there for 3D.

Movie : 3.5/5
3D : 4/5

a decent animation flick from Sony!

The 3D in Madagascar 3 was better. I would put it second behind Sammy for animated 3D titles.

Madagascar 3 3D did look great, though it's a close call with Open Season 3D IMO. More studios need to take these films as examples of how we want our 3D.

The Madagascar is as close Hollywood can get to Sammys. For me in 3D, its above everything else I have seen.

I just watched both Open Season, and Madagascar, back to back. Open Season first. It is close, but I think Madagascar's 3D is a little bit better. And Madagascar's audio is certainly better. And based on the trailer included with Madagascar, It looks like Rise Of The Guardians will be of a similar quality.

Don't know anything about Sammy. Not once seen or heard of that anywhere other than this forum. I take it it's not an American release.

I dont have too much to add other than this is unbelievably amazing in 3D. Got it in a set with Cloudy with a chance of meatballs and Monster house for just £16.79 for all 3 (what does that work out in dollars? around $10?). Absolute bargain. The depth and dimensionality and pop outs are second to none. This is how we want our 3D!

Yes, try to add it to your 3D library for the strong 3D. Although there's also Madagascar 3 3D and Rise of the Guardians with equally strong 3D as Open Season 3D.

Open Season can also be bought as part of a Box Set with Cloudy with Meatballs and Monster House from Amazon....currently in the January sales at £15:75...

I just ordered my copy now as I'd only rented Open and Cloudy before and they both have excellent 3D in them.....
