i remember before warner annouce their BD exclusives, their movies was selling very quick, HDDVD and BD. Both sides was buying lot of movies, i know lot of people on both sides buying warner movies and list them to show their support.
Well now, after their annoucement of dropping hddvd, and let admit it, bogo will be rare in the future. Their sales number will be dropping fast. I know that with my income, it would be hard to dish out 30 bucks for a movie. I ownes 80 movies on BD but those are from bogo, all of those BD i bought are 15, even 8 bucks each from those sales on amazon. I'm just a little worry about the state of HDM is in cause i know it's won't be just warner feeling the sale drop but other studios as well. what are your thoughts on the matter? |

Dvd, games, and blu does not have some magic exemption. Warner and other studios know what they are doing and know what to expect. I would say do not get your panties in a bunch but for some reason people on the net and on this board especially can not function without imagining drama where there is none. All and all just sit back and enjoy the ride, if you can not afford a movie then wait until you can it will still be there. |

The Blu-Ray releases haven't really been appealing to the average buyer IMO as well over the past couple of months. I'd expect the sales to go up in March with some of the titles that are scheduled for release, like I Am Legend.

In the early days if I hadn't bought a PS3, I may well have gone down the HD-DVD route - most of the films I wanted in HD appeared to be HD-DVD only- the Fast & The Furious, Riddick, Van Helsing etc. There's not a lot on blu-ray now that I want. It does mean there is something to look forward to, but there's nothing around now.

Blu-ray sales are up something like 700%. Sales will be fine. Speaking of buying blu-rays I forgot to buy 30 days of night yesterday and the justice league movie. To the store!

I feel the price of HD is right. Or you can buy regular DVD for $23. And people complaining about $28 for HD? I suggest the complainers go back to DVD and wait 2-3 years until the price drop for HD. If you want new technology, then expect to pay more than old technology. There are plenty of people out there that are more than willing to pay $28 for FOX titles and $20 for all others.
If they start releasing more movies of my interest, then I'll go buy it on day 1. |

I don't like spending over 25 on a title and very seldom do. I think I've got all my titles from Amazon and I think Fox and Sony need to get their titles under the 25 mark. If you don't mind spending 28 for a title that is your right, but they would probably sell more if they were under 25.

For those movies less than 2 hours, the quality is ok since they can use about 20Mbps bitrate. for those between 2-3 hours, the quality is so so, for around 15Mbps. for those longer than 3 hours, i.e. troy, the transfer is horrible for most of time, because the bitrate is less than 10Mbps. |
