I'm not sure if I recall correctly but if I'm right, Sony used to have a HUGE stake in Squaresoft before the merger took place... then that's when their ownership was greatly reduced.
At least that's what I think. :-/ |

I'm not surprise, Final Fantasy XI was multi-platform and let's face it Xbox 360 is a bigger challenge for the PS3, than the original Xbox vs. PS2. There’s a lot of people who have the 360 and that’s a lot of money that could be lost with exclusives. If it goes multi-platform, most likely FFXIII will come out on PS3 first and then sometime later out on Xbox 360. OF course the bright side Sony owns part of Square-Enix, so Sony will making some money off the Xbox 360 fans.

But FFXI doesn't count because it's a MMORPG.

There is a big difference between thinking about it and doing it.
By the time Squeenix begin serious development they will know better what the PS3 userbase looks like, I mean the the EU is a very strong place for FF and the console is only going to launch in about 2 hours. On that note I bid you adieu (I am off to work to sell some PS3s). |

Why do 360 fans substitute their wishes for news articles?
The article doesn't say FFXIII is going multiplatform. If you analyze the quote the SCEE exec made a stupid comment that makes no sense from his POV. You don't see PS3 fans walking around talking about how the Xbox is losing Halo exclusivity. So stop jumping the gun and spreading FUD. |

True Amon37, FFXI is a MMORPG, It was on PS2 for two years before it even showed up on Xbox 360. FFXi is own by Square-Enix, which owns FFXIII. So I think it should count. Well said MaserXeus. I get tired of people trying to sway me one way or the other in the great PS3 vs. 360 debate. I love them both too and will support both. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

i don;t care what people say, even if the PS3 loses exlusives left right and centre (which would really hurt me and loads of other PS3 owners real bad) i beleive that we would get the best versions of these games to some degree because of the space blu-ray holds and the massive worlds developers are trying to create on a mass scale.
All those massive worlds full of lush graphics and high def cinematics is gonna need a heck of a lotta space and thats one thing the xboxb 360 cannot compete with the PS3 on. Just wait and see when GTA comes out and hear about how much problems they had trying to get the game to fit on a DVD for the 360 and how easy it was to put it onto a blu-ray disk. Just to stay on topic, this hasn;t been confirmed as a multi-platform title just yet like devil may cry was so it is very mis leading. I also would advise the poster next time try and not say somethings gone multi-platform when it hasn't been confirmed as it spreads FUD. ![]() |

'ol, MrBogey, I didn't know gamespot.com was a Xbox fan boy. '
They're not. But the xbox fans who are taking a badly worded sentence to state that FFXIII is coming to the 360 are. It's just FUD meant to depress sales of the PS3. |

So who’s the xbox fan you're talking about? I don’t think Kiddtigger is, since kiddtigger owns a PS3 and Xbox 360. Sony fans own a PS3, Xbox fans own Xbox 360. People who own both, like Kiddtigger and myself are neutral and a fan of both, why else would we have both? I’ve read enough forums to know sony fans are just as bad as xbox fans blaming one another. So these type of comments are pointless. Like I said before I wouldn't be surprise if FFXIII goes multiplatform. If it does, I think it will be release on PS3 first, then after 3 months, maybe up to a year later, it would be release on Xbox 360. Just like the Dynasty Warrior series was release on multiplatform. It's not my wish Mr. Bogey. I have a PS3. I don't care what systems it comes to (What does Georges Fornay know anyways? He's only one of Sony's PRESIDENTS) . But I'll put money on it that it goes multi-platform, just like they lost exclusivity with Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, Assassin's Creed, Virtua Fighter 5, Fatal Inertia, Armored Core 4, and Bladestorm: The Hundred Years' War.
It looks like Tekken 6 might not be PS3 exclusive either: http://www.aeropause.com/archives/20...n_6_exclus.php And rumors are that Metal Gear 4 is coming to the 360 as well too. http://www.joystiq.com/2006/12/17/he...ps3-exclusive/ It looks like Sony is losing exclusives left and right. Those rumors are old news, nothing's been proven. And my money's on them and Final Fantasy 13/Vs13 staying on PS3. RPGs like the main FF series have tended to be single-platform; there's more trouble involved with porting them over. For it to be done, there has to be sufficient reason to think the new userbase is big enough. Game Arts justified it with moving Lunar and Grandia to the PS. Speaking of userbase, Final Fantasy's biggest spot is still Japan, and there is simply no consumer interest in 360 there. That's why it's unlikely to get ported. |

And this article says it isn't a rumor that Metal Gear 4 is coming to the 360. It says it is fact. I guess you shouldn't believe everything you read though. http://digg.com/gaming_news/Metal_Ge...ng_to_Xbox_360 Last edited by Blu Tiger; 03-23-2007 at 08:49 PM. |
