I hear a lot about shows that are coming to HD from Universal but Im a little hesitant to pick them up because I absolutely despise fullscreen being shown on a widescreen TV I would rather them reframe it for widescreen.
I would absolutely go nuts if Paramount reframed the Star Trek series for widescreen. What does everyone else think? I dont care about being original. I just want the show looking GREAT. |

no, I think he means like Law an order on tnthd, thats 16.9 and fills the screen, I think that would be worth the setback to get all the shows that are chaulk full of grain exc. first couple season of sopranos, the Shield exc. those on blu - the grain

I prefer the original aspect ratio for movies and tv shows.

but, if an older movie or TV show was filmed in a great big square... You are not getting anything cut off and it is still framed and shot as the director intended. I can live with that just fine. I DO like the SQ up-dated though. |

How could you proportion a square into a rectangle without losing some of the image or creating a disproportionate image like the example I posted? Get on photoshop right now and try to do that. I guarantee you can't because it's not physically possible.
