Default The Mummy & Sequels

Not trying to start another Universal/Paramount thread but I have a question geared more toward Uni's way of releasing dvd's...

With the third installation of the Mummy series coming out August 1st, is it more likely we see the Mummy & the Mummy Returns on Blu-Ray before the August 1st release or until Christmas when the dvd is most likely to come out?

Basically what I'm saying is when Uni is releasing a sequel do they do their re-releases before the movie is released in theaters or with it when it releases on dvd?

Default Mummy Sequels

I think the Mummy 3 trailer is supposed to be shown on Access Hollywood either today or very soon. Today being Thursday, 2/28.

I'd hate to be the bad news bear but if they're encoded Blu-ray editions of The Mummy is anything like it's HD-DVD version then you'll be more than a bit gutted by it's visual quality. It was hashed badly, my brother had it on his system and it was poor to say the least. The master they used was in a pretty bad state and needs cleaning up a lot before they should release on Blu-ray.

I think it sucks that Rachel Weisz isn't reprising her role. What do you guys think?

At least Brendan Fraser returns for this movie and it going to have Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh it.

I hope by the time the movie comes out Paramount has change their mind.

I used to have Mummy 1 & 2 on HD DVD but sold them coz of below average picture quality. First part suffers from EE and Halos and second one lacks sharpness and black levels.

Default The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer.

Since everyone is sharing their thoughts I just want to say that I've seen every film from The Mummy Series, either in parts or in total, and will be sure to watch The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and The Scorpion King: Rise of the Ackadion.
