well finally got my super Hitchcock box set from amazon.uk and unfortunately my worries about arriving safely were not unfounded.
massive crack in the plastic case on the front all the way to the bottom.
not the end of the world, but really disappointing because with better packaging I really think it would have been avoided.
overall the set is very nicely done, although like everyone in the world I don't like not having disc hubs for the individual bds.
the replica movie poster postcards and other paper ephemera are very cool, but a larger booklet about Hitch and the actual films would have been nice, especially given the larger size they had to work with.
ready to finally get to check out these transfers that have engendered such passionate discussion.

Crazy mine arrived today...the same thing, a crack from the top diagonally to the bottom...may contact them and email them pics showing them and wait to open...haven't decided as of yet!

weird.
I would email them asap, as at the moment there are only 7 left to order.
I mean those could be the very last copies. who knows.
I went ahead and opened mine because honestly I don't think I'll be mailing this back.
one one hand it's just the packaging, but on the other it cost a good deal so it should be undamaged.
At least I know now that there are other people out there with the same issue, which makes me feel less cursed.

Received my Limited Edition U.K. glass set yesterday in perfect condition so I was fortunate. A very nice set. Will start clawing away at these films during December

Got my lightning deal set today, it is soooo nice. I knew I would prefer this over the LE glass block set. The whole thing looks so classic, the silhouette, the original poster artwork, the colours...so chuffed. Glad I hung around for a £40 price drop too

Yeah, and I think I've made up my mind and decided to return it...I know it's just a scratch...but it'll keep bugging me that it's there...so hopefully there're no issues that come up with the exchange! *Crossed fingers!*

I guess for the moment there are more coming, but it is certainly a limited set.
I emailed amazon.uk and they are going to send me a replacement so I guess I will be sending back my "cracked" set. it's a pain for sure, but I guess I'll try one time to get an undamaged copy. hopefully they'll send out the replacement using expedited shipping so it will arrive sooner. fingers crossed.

Pretty sure if it's damaged they will send out a replacement first anyway won't they? So you could wait to make sure they have one to send to you before sending it back.

Yep they do, so I'll be sending it back once mine is on it's way!

I want this so bad! The $200+ prices tag is holding me back. Might have to wait till Christmas.

Get the UK version. Much cheaper and region free. Plus amazon UK has had it as a lightning deal 3 times already

Just watched Topaz for the first time (surprisingly never watched it on the velvet set)

Whilst a good film, it felt a tad stretched out at 2hr 20 odd. PQ was better than Marnie.

Is it fair to say the P/Q on this set is a bit hit 'n' miss?

Yes. According to reviews, about 4-5 titles have quite bad PQ.

Which 4-5 titles are reported bad?

I'm onto the last two now and have been impressed with the set overall. Marnie was the worst I'd seen.
