My local theatre as mentioned maybe here or elsewhere is refurbishing its main auditorium and wikll be able to show the film @ 48fps, I'll be an absolute cinematic heaven if a Star Trek trailer was attached, seriously!

I can't wait to see this, but why did they turn it into a trilogy? Seemed ridiculous as two movies...

Money, Money, Money. Same thing that gave us the Hobbit Menu at Denny's.

I think they wanted to show Twilight and Harry Potter how it's done. By making the shortest book in the LotR series into the most movies.

Because it includes the Apendices material as well as events that went on during the hobbit storyline but wasnt covered in the book. For instance the prologue will show the Battle of Azanulbizar and the white council stuff will be included and a bunch of other stuff. These films arent just the Hobbit storyline.

The Hobbit, as a film trilogy, will be far more comprehensive regarding Middle Earth than what is in the novel by the same name.

something i've learned......you can type these logical....100% completely accurate responses but people will still complain about 3 movies from such a short book.

Lol very true. Ive responded to that question countless times. The reason for three films has been all over the internet for months and we've known for nearly 2 years that these films would cover more than the hobbit novel yet there is always someone who says "3 films for a short book? Wtf!" Its like these people have been living under a rock. At some point I really should stop responding to these people.

People complain for the sake of complaining. At first they were complaining that the film is too serious now that PJ has given it a LOTR undertone. Now they are saying its too silly with the humor and sight gags seen in the trailers. There is just no pleasing some people, even if the film hasn't come out yet.

I'm complaining the characters don't seem near as awesome as LoTR

pretty sure that villain can't be topped

I've finally come the realisation that that's what so many people do on the net. Complaining for complaining's sake.

How these people go through life and enjoy anything at all is beyond me.....

I wonder if there is any news or hints that they will release expanded versions for home video shorty before release of the next film, like with LOTR. Seems less likely with Hobbit, but who knows?

The locations for the Star Trek preview were already announced, My IMAX has the preview as well as the Man of Steel trailer which is now confirmed to be attached to Hobbit, and I get hobbit at 48 FPS gonna be a good day!

i'd almost guarantee it. Jackson has done it w/all 3 LOTR and King Kong.

weather it's before the next movie comes out or not could be up to debate, but i'd say we'll get EE versions @ some point for each movie.

Yeah, I'd be shocked if that didn't happen.

I doubt the EE's will add nearly as much as the LOTR did since they already decided to make 3 films (which will eat up a lot of extra footage since they were originally only shooting for 2 films).

But they're doing more filming, so there will still be stuff that gets cut and added back in I'm sure.

I see your dragon thing after googling that name, and raise you that hell fire thing from the dungeon in the first movie, that is way more bad ass than a dragon.

Oh and that pic is why its so cool even if it was 3 minutes.
