How did u get to that conclusion?

She died in the COMIC Book in 1973.
And Raimi referenced the tragic scene in the Trilogy but swapped in MJ.

That doesnt mean they will go there for this reboot. From what it seems they are trying new things w/out going overboard.

I've never read an entire comic book in my life, never picked up a spiderman one.

I'm not allowed to voice my opinion on casting decisions? And for the record and your enjoyment, I thought with the exception of Emma Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man was entirely miscast.

Exactly, and correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a more Ultimate spin on the character. So isn't Electro African American in that version? I know he was in The Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon. So I have no problem with them modernizing the character and choosing Fox to do that. Like Rick said, everyone was up in arms when RDJ was cast as Iron Man and he made them eat crow with his performance. As long as they amp up the action and less on the romantic aspect of the character I'm good. I like the Iron Man formula when it comes to blending the romance with the action.

I'm not really sure how Electro's race changed over the years, as I've been out of the comic book loop for a couple decades!

How exactly is that miscasting? We haven't seen even one second of footage with Electro as of yet.

If it's the fact that they made the character African-American? So what? As long as they do a good job, that's all that matters.

Look at Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin in Daredevil. He was fantastic. I'd be hard pressed to think of a White actor with that physical presence.

Great point about Michael Clarke Duncan! He did indeed make for a great Kingpin. I don't mean to upset some forum members but when I first heard "Jamie Foxx as Electro" it just didn't click for me. I just thought the casting was pretty terrible for The Amazing Spider-Man. It feels like the miscasting continues into the sequel for me.
