I have a Dell 1720 with a blu-ray drive, will download the trial version and see how that works; have you anything to report?
At least they have a trial version, PowerDVD do not and I cannot even find any mention of Blu-Ray on the WinDVD website?

Thus far, as much as everyone hates it, Powerdvd Ultra is the best for playing Blu Rays. Arsoft has yet to release any updates to make certain movies such as Yuma work. Pwerdvd's last update allows most people to pla Yuma. You can navigate through the menus with the keyboard. I've watched Yuma on powerdvd twice. Amazing movie by the way. Hopefully something better will come along that has tighter integration with mediacenter.

Hey Snowman!
Naw, havent installed it yet.
I did try PowerDVD 8 Beta. Didn't work.
PDVD 8 played DVDs and files fine. Does nothing when trying a Blu-ray.
Looks pretty though.

Still using 7.3.3730 for now.

I just purchased a Lite-On internal BR drive and it came with Power DVD.

If I put in a blu-ray disc, the screen will just go dark and I have to pull the power plug on my computer to restart it. If I put in a dvd first and start playing that, pop it out and put in a blu-ray, it will work. How stupid is that?? But under no conditions will it play The Brave One.

I should send it back, but I only paid $129 for the drive and there isn't anything wrong with the hardware, just the POS Power DVD bundled software. I think that I will keep it and just try to find another playback solution.

Only Powerdvd Ultra will play Blu Rays, when it comes to Cyberlink that is.

Interesting... Looks like they added support for DTS HD MA and 24-bit/96kHz output.
