I don't think its ever been in question that the ps3 will support 2.0. However that chart is rather nice for comarison purposes, though it leaves off the samsung bdp-1200, though, being older than the 1400, it would only be a 1.0 player anyways.

The page does say its ready but it needs the firmware update. We all knew this that at some point the PS3 would be updated to BD-Live.

I'm pretty sure mine isn't BD-Live compatible yet. I've tried Saw IV which supports BD-Live and while I can see the blogging features, I can't connect to anything.

The link says it's 2.0 "ready," not that it has 2.0, it also states the firmware is expected this year. It will be out a few weeks after standalone 2.0 players are out.

The 60gb will get it, too, but it's not on that list since it's discontinued, just like the 20gb.

The 'firmware upgrade' (System Software update) to support BD-Live/Profile 2.0 hasn't been released yet. PS3's demonstrating BD-Live were at CES in January, this year so it's just a matter of grouping all the features they intend to include together (not just BD-Live support), testing it thoroughly and releasing at an appropriate time.

When's the next major-studio BD-Live disk release?

Yeah I ran across that on the SAW IV BD as well. Looks like it might be kind of interesting, but right it didn't connect. You can view the directors post which is already there.
