Mmmm, I'm in two minds.

I really enjoy this genre of 'presenting life as we don't see it' type movie, but I have the Koyaanisqatsionpowastaskikittykatsss trilogy and I'm not sure whether to jump in.

Does anyone have this title and can anyone recommend this title?

This is one I intend to pick up next year after once I've gotten an HDMI 1.3 receiver.

I can't wait to hear the DTS-MA 24/96 lossless track on this bad boy.

I have Chronos, after the revised version for the PS3 was released. PQ is worth every penny - I'm using it as a "demo" disk, especially the sequence that was filmed within the Notre Dame cathedral. SQ is already outstanding - can't wait to hear the HDMI 1.3 rendition.

From me, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

They've done a tremendous job on making sure everything is as good as can be (like 96khz DTS-MA on BD) plus they replaced discs that didn't work with the PS3 without any hassle (even sent out a return envelope for the faulty disc). Buy it

PQ isnt the best. Some scenes are breathtaking, while some are just blah. Blame that on the old film...

But overall, it is a MUST OWN blu-ray. A great disc for any purpose.

definately recommend. I also received a non-ps3 compatible version but the disc was replaced pretty quick, with great customer service, and it was well worth the wait. plus if you order it now chances are stores like amazon will have the working version.

this is the most visually impressive blu ray I own (12 and counting)

This film was really amazing! I thought the PQ was fantastic. How do you access the ROM features? I do not understand that.

You would need a BD-ROM drive and a Mac/PC to access the ROM features, I would presume.

Haven't seen Baraka, but "Chronos" is the only tolerable KoyQ "sequel" (even if different director)--
PowaQ was dreary and mud-slogged, and NaqoyQ was flat-out corny enough to make old fans cringe...

But Chronos was built for IMAX, and doesn't skimp on the world-scenery eye-candy, like we always wanted to see with the original.
(Although those without stereo systems won't get that drumbeat-percussion that sneaked onto the speakers at the end of the Grand Canyon sequence...)

I saw it in the IMAX theater in Denver, twice. Then I bought it on LaserDisc, on DVD after that, and it was my first Blu-ray purchase--hence, the avatar!

So, is this ever going to get a great release?

I don't think I have ever seen it, but I love Baraka and Samsara, so this would be a no brainer, but if the PQ isn't top notch, it's not really worth it to me, since it's pure cinema.
