definately recommend. I also received a non-ps3 compatible version but the disc was replaced pretty quick, with great customer service, and it was well worth the wait. plus if you order it now chances are stores like amazon will have the working version.

this is the most visually impressive blu ray I own (12 and counting)

Here's a link on how the Chronos disc was made posted by the producer:
CHRONOS - Production Process for BD

Info on the for PS3 re-pressing issue can be found on the sticky at the top of this page, and in other various threads (use Chronos as Search Title Only)

This film was really amazing! I thought the PQ was fantastic. How do you access the ROM features? I do not understand that.

You would need a BD-ROM drive and a Mac/PC to access the ROM features, I would presume.

Has anyone watched this yet? It's amazing!!
It's on Blu ray of course, with 16:9 1080P, dts, DRS(Digital Reference Series- Special Edition), and Dolby.

It's an incredible mind trip through time with New Age Music and extraordinary scenes from all over the world. IT's a great history lesson too, it was fun trying to identify all the amazing places.
The camera captures the beauty of Earths creation through ancient greece, rome, paris, egypt, up to modern time. it's gets better as it progresses faster and faster. I don't want to say too much, you'll want to experience this yourself.

For you audio buffs- it has HD Surround- 96/24 DTS HD Master Audio- whatever that means.

Does anyone have this title and can anyone recommend this title?
Haven't seen Baraka, but "Chronos" is the only tolerable KoyQ "sequel" (even if different director)--
PowaQ was dreary and mud-slogged, and NaqoyQ was flat-out corny enough to make old fans cringe...

But Chronos was built for IMAX, and doesn't skimp on the world-scenery eye-candy, like we always wanted to see with the original.
(Although those without stereo systems won't get that drumbeat-percussion that sneaked onto the speakers at the end of the Grand Canyon sequence...)

I saw it in the IMAX theater in Denver, twice. Then I bought it on LaserDisc, on DVD after that, and it was my first Blu-ray purchase--hence, the avatar!

Don't know if anyone's aware of this but it seems to be getting another Blu release later this year by Image Entertainment....... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/Chronos-Blu-ray/ref=%26%2574%2561g%3d%2562l%2575r%2561y%252d012%25 2d20?SubscriptionId=AKIAIY4YSQJMFDJATNBA&tag=blura y-012-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creative ASIN=B0089PZC1U&ASIN=B0089PZC1U&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Intrigued to see what improvments will be made, if any.

Wonder if they'll keep the pop-up subtitle track that identifies the world locations.

I came into this thread thinking it was a misspelled version of Guillermo Del Toro's Cronos.

Question

So, is this ever going to get a great release?

I don't think I have ever seen it, but I love Baraka and Samsara, so this would be a no brainer, but if the PQ isn't top notch, it's not really worth it to me, since it's pure cinema.

Exclamation Difference in 2012 ("imax white blu ray") and 2007 blu ray.

Does anyone know if there is an actual technical difference in the two blu days. For some ungodly reason, the 2012 White Blu Ray is going for as low as $130 on Amazon new, and as low as $50 on ebay. But is there an actual technical difference in the two. I've read the specs for both, and from the sleeve there doesn't seem to be any difference at all. Is it just a re-release, but it's exactly the same blu ray? Or is it remastered or enhanced or something? Why are the 2012 blu rays going for so much?

Chronos will put you in a space time trance.

Also recommended: Samsara, Baraka, and the Qatsi trilogy (Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi, Naqoysqatsi)

On 4K. Nevermind it was about the only Blu ray disc that had a PC Extra.. That I know of. Baraka scanned at 8k also needs a 4K rerelease.. if it's scanned at 8k
