Default Most Powerful

What are some of the most powerful films ever made? Braveheart has to be near the top. What are some others?

Probably not a good idea to bring this one up but...The Passion of the Christ.

In what way? Hercules of New York or Rudy or Gone With the Wind? i.e. physically imposing or inspirational or emotionally charged.

I'm assuming you mean the third option, so here is my choice:

The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)

For me, saving privat ryan was pretty powerful. also when a man loves a woman. if you have alcoholics in your family than it hits home and is pretty powerful.

any movies where children are kidnapped or killed really get to me and most of the time i have a hard time watching them. it just kills me why anyone would hurt a child in any way, shape or form. so gone baby gone bothered me a bit. anyways just my thoughts...

Emotionally charged.... exactly

I was definitely thinking Gone Baby Gone as I read that. Speaking of kidnapped..... The Vanishing was pretty powerful the first time around.

The opening scene in Saving Private Ryan is probably the most "powerful" scene that I can recall. I was pretty much in shock watching it. Actually, the whole movie was kind of that way. I felt numb after watching it, couldn't really decide if I had liked it or not. Of course, I finally decided that I did like it but it was quite a while before I could watch it again.
