I liked The Hobbit's 3D very much. Depth strength seemed mostly strong. Around 85% of the shots looked appropriately round from my mid-backrow viewing distance (~40ft away maybe), and nothing was ever offensively flat. The 3D style was more natural and subtle, rather than aggressive and engaging. I'd compare it to Prometheus although Peter Jackson was little more creative with the 3D.
