Pretty much my holy trinity of favorite bands is Rush, King Crimson, and Frank Zappa. Zappa was so experimental and prolific that it's really hard to pigeon-hole what style he was. His early stuff was kind of psychadelic/do-wop, then traditional jazz/funk, then rock, then fusion, with lots of different styles thrown into that mix, such as a good bit of classical. He also released about 70 albums when he was alive, and recorded pretty much every single concert he ever played, so I think there are about 100 albums available now, with more to come well after our lifetime. If you look at The Vault where all of his recordings are stored, it looks almost like that secret government storage warehouse in Raiders of the Lost Ark!

Yes, I think seeing a woman play a musical instrument well adds about 3 or 4 points to her hotness.

Yea I knew about his recording every/anything he ever did with his band. Pretty crazy to have EVERY show recorded

My 3 favs are (DUH!), "Aerosmith", "Queen", & probably "Led Zeppelin", even though I never go to see them "LIVE"

I've seen AEROSMITH a ton of times, of course, & QUEEN just once
[Show spoiler](9/26/80, Boston Garden, the day After J. BONHAM died, but you know that story )
, & RUSH I've seen a ton of times also. They're prob a very close 4th after LZ.

Those are right up there for me too , especially Zeppelin. I would also throw in Jeff Beck, Yes, Black Sabbath, Emerson, Lake, & Palmer, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc., etc., etc.

Forgot those 2 prog-rock bands, with YES prob coming in 5th (per my above list). Was lucky enough to meet them at a meet n' greet in Boston a few yrs ago for one of their box-set releases ("YESyears"), got it signed by them.

** Actually, it had to be 20 or so yrs ago, as the box-set came out in 91' **

Also met Steve Howe at a solo acoustic show maybe 10-15 yrs ago. He signed stuff & met with the fans after his show for a little while. Nice guy, low key. --- Funny story: Before he came out, his "handler" asked us to gently shake his hand, as his hands were a bit worn out or something like that, After a show.

That's awesome that you got to meet the guys from Yes. I saw them live once about 15 years ago. Maybe Steve Howe's handler saw that shot of you putting the Vulcan squeeze on Joey Kramer.

I just finished watching the first four episodes of Game of Thrones season one again. What a great show and about the best picture quality that I've ever seen. The audio isn't too bad either.

So I take it there's no love lost for "New Wave" ie. Talking Heads, B-52's, U2, The Police, Depeche Mode etc.

Not long ago, we were talking about complete catalogs worth owning and someone was crapping all over The Doors.

Love The Doors, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd!

I've heard nothing but greatness about that show, the PQ/AQ, everything. Need to watch it.

They just finished a 2-year tour, I'm sure they came close to your area (?), unless it's the cost of tickets, cuz' yea, they Can be expensive (depending on where you want to sit). I saw them at the Start of the latest tour at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA., great show, tremendous effort put into the Audio/sight lines for a Huge Stadium show.

This was 2-3 cell phone cameras ago, so the shot isn't great, but this was where we sat. Very Close, got to see them walk out to our right, right up to the stage. Amazing show.
