The problem is that I have not bought DVD, and many people are like me. For instance, I would have purchased Elizabeth: The Golden Age on DVD, but I can wait until it is on Blu. There are a lot of people that still will buy DVD, but a lot that will not. If the studios wait, then they are losing money to a number of customers, and when they get around to the Blu-ray, the demand is not there anymore or it is competing with other releases.
