I tried to play a few weeks back after playing COD4 for so long. I would rate myself a well above average player at Socom. When I got on a few weeks ago I was such a NOOOOOB! The movement is so choppy and PQ was horid. I almost threw up it was so bad! LOL I will prob get on for a week before confrontation comes out myself.

Anyone have the sound bite from Socom 1 where after you planted the bomb you would sometimes get the "All your base are belong to us" sound bite?

I tried looking for that one forever...

WOOT! Went to Gamestop...picked up a MINT copy of SOCOM 2 for $3.99

This is going to look so bad on my LCD though...lol should be fun times!

What I do not understand is Slant Six is releasing this game, which was suppose to drop in November. Now they are not going to release it till June, this is not a solid date but all indications say June. Then in November Zipper is suppose to release Socom 4? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Do not know where you got November for Zipper Socom 4.. that game has not even been officially annouced yet.. I think you would be lucky to see the Zipper Socom before June 09...

I read in an article that supposedly there will be 4 or 5 maps when confrontation launches with map packs of 3-4 new maps every couple months from BOTH slant six and zipper. (like 2 from each) This is not confirmed but I did read it in an article. I will see if I can find the article and post it.

Thats actually a tenative date that was released. But it has not been denied or confirmed by Zipper.

hey irish, did you get the harddrive, I did, for the 3 downloadable maps on Socom 2, dude if you did, how awesome was Last Bastion, I pray one day then add that map and foxhunt on ps3

I loved last bastion! It was a blast! By the way I forgot to mention earlier that the magazine EGM is going to have a HANDS ON review of Socom confrontation in next months issue! I cant believe I forgot to post this announcement ealier-im an idiot sometimes! CANT WAIT to hear the reviews! Brisiiiiuuuu Grenadoooo!

SOCOM Confrontation Special Forces Revealed

A couple of people are saying they've got their EGM issue already here.

Apparently Slant Six are aiming to release the week of May 5th.
