I've had this release since release date. I'm pretty sure I purchased it at Walmart, but I may be wrong. I noticed way back then that my copy was misprinted. My digital copy disc has the incorrect label on it. The disc contains the digital copy, but the label says "Disc 1 : Feature Film, Special Features" although it still does have the DVD icon on the disc.

Has anyone else noticed/heard about this? I had never read about it, and i frequented DVDTalk more during that time and never saw it mentioned there. I always kind of figured with Star Trek being such a nerd thing that it may be worth some $$$.

Are the two Blu-rays labeled correctly? If so, then no worries. The Digital Copy disc is basically useless after you redeem the code.

Never heard of it either. If you can, post a picture of it. My 3-disc version has no such strangeness - however - it's labeled "Disc 3 Digital Copy Star Trek D-A-C Free Game Trial" and has neither a DVD nor a Blu-ray logo?

ya, everything plays fine, its just an incorrectly labeled disc. I was just wondering if anyone else has this same error or has heard of this.

Here is a picture of the disc:

Movie cash is very likely. I wouldn't be surprised if the single disc version gets re-released with a new cover.

Because sometimes they release single discs which are stripped of special features - which is probably what goeagles5039 is trying to find out. If you can't help ... perhaps someone who owns or owned the single disc will know.

Yes that is what I was wondering.

The film disc in the 3 Disc set was bare bones wasn't it? with all the deleted scenes and docs on the bonus disc.

Yeah, all it had was a commentary track and a BD-Live link - which is why I shelled out the extra coin for the 3-disc set.

I'd like to know why the 3 disc version is so much now. My local Target, Best Buy & Walmart still have it in store for $20 & under.

I got it for $14+$2.98 shipping on Amazon's marketplace last June. Right now, there are 3 for at or just under $25 on eBay - then it takes off. If you see it for $20 and don't have it yet, grab it!

When I said "My local Target, Best Buy & Walmart still have it in store for $20 & under.", I didn't mean I checked the sites. I've seen them while shopping for the past few months.

Sorry, but you're going to have to provide pictures to back up your claim. I visit all three of those stores regularly. The last time I saw the 3-disc version of Star Trek in stores was during the first half of last year (2012), when Walmart was fireselling it for $5. Before that, the last place to carry it was Blockbuster, which was fireselling it for $10 back in 2011.

Just because something isn't at your local store in your state, doesn't mean other states stores will be the same. If I remember to take a pic next time I'm at either of those stores, I will.

My Wal-Mart has at least 25 copies of the three disc set for $24.95. Whenever they do a reset for the electronics department they just move them to another section.
