a lot of stores always show lousy video. they all have the sets set way to high where the screen is all washed out and refuse to correct them saying thats the way the tv is. But the best i've seen is when they are showing off pioneer with blu-ray
I too have noticed they use component cables instead of hdmi

My Target did the same thing. The Blu-Ray display had Jack Sparrow looking as green as the Incredible Hulk.
I was thinking to myself that they would probably sell more Blu-Rays if they just turned off the display.
