Default Free DVD Promotion - 5 Free DVD by mail

When I purchased my Blu-Ray player, there was a promotion being offered where I could send away and receive 5 free DVDs. This was being offered by certain manufactures and for certain models of Blu-Ray players. It has been almost 2 months and I haven't received the DVDs. Has anyone participated in this offer and actually received your selection of DVDs? If so, how long did it take to receive your movie selection?

Thanks...

I haven't seen my movies yet, but it hasn't been that long... check the "hot deals" forum, there are a couple discussions about this, and they have a toll-free number to call to check status, but I wouldn't call until the 12 week mark though...... it seems 9-12 weeks is the standard. Everyone has been getting them though, so it's not like they forgot you, but it just takes FOREVER.

I know people here just LOVE to correct everyone on the whole "Blu-Ray Disc" vs. "DVD", .... but it is DIGITAL media, in a VIDEO form, on a DISC........ So as far as I'm concerned, if it's "Blu-Ray DVD" it's still correct.....

Hey All,
Thanks for the lighting fast replies - wow!! . I was able to find a toll free number and I called, apparently everyone is correct. They are behind due to the overwhelming requests. The person that I spoke with was very friendly and professional. At any rate, here’s the number that I called: 1-800-598-9671.
Again, Thanks all!!

it is Blu-Ray, calling dvd makes it sound too much like HD-DVD

and if you were going to refer to it as dvd at least call it dHDvd since it would be in a HD format, there is a difference

Let's call them "CDs" then. After all, they are on a disc, and the disc is compact.

Hell, let's call them "VHS". It does play video on a home system, right?

It's a new format with significant differences, so it should get its own name, and the name is Blu-ray Disc, or BD, not DVD, not BRD (sorry, AVS refugees), and not BR.

To the original poster, they said it would take up to ten weeks, and mine took about ten weeks. So you should just be a few weeks away from getting your BDs.

Yeah, we'll all on edge in here. It's like a powder keg -- one little spark, and we explode.

(Only somewhat kidding.)

that would be awesome if my car could play a blu-ray disc so I could put every song I own on a single disc uncompressed and put several movies on it as well

great for the winter time if your heater doesn't work

now that I leave my ps3 on 24/7 for F@H my room is always really warm , if it gets too warm I just open my bathroom door since I have the exhaust from the ps3 pointed at the door, hahaha

Not sure I agree with this... VCD (which is DIGITAL media, in a VIDEO form, on a DISC) will never be called to a CD-DVD - nor will a Beta tape ever be a VHS (even though its played in a "VCR")... so I don't see blu-ray being a DVD, its just simply a beautiful amazing new product - blu-ray disc. Blu-ray just sounds so purdy! Adding DVD to it just cheapens the name IMO I think...

Anyway... I sent in my 5 feebies middle of December, and still dont have mine... I'll just patiently wait... its not like Im just dying to get those awesome titles to watch... just for the collection!

I sent mine in the day after Christmas and when I checked with them last week, they said that I didn't send anything to them, so I'm out of luck.

Glad we could help you. And welcome. Feel free to ask any other bluray related questions you might have, but please remember to use the "search" feature....chances are someone has asked a similar question before.

Sony's not offering the freebies. it's BVHE. and second i fail to see how NOT getting your FREE movies is getting screwed.

If I dont get my movies, I will feel screwed. Thats a $150 value - A LOT OF MONEY - that they promised as an offer to buy a product. $150 I will have to shell out if I didn't get them, not that I will rush out and get those titles, but its the promise. If I buy a new car with 10 free oil changes, and dont get them, Im getting screwed right? Still love the car, but where is my "incentive" that was offered to buy? A deal is a deal. It makes my PS3 that I bought for $499 w/5 movies now $650 with 5 movies. I'd call that getting screwed.

So I hope I get mine.

They're not freebies when they're advertised as part of the purchase.

That's the case even if they called them "free". They're not really free; they're part of the deal.

If you took your car to a tire shop that offered buy three tires and get the fourth free, and they rolled your car out with three new tires and one original still on it, would you be OK with that since you just simply didn't get the free tire?
