Apocalypse now is completely different situation as it is classic film released over 30 years ago. This is a new release title. The extended version will most likely not even be ready for release close to when the regular edition will be released, as well as all the documentaries they will have on it anyway. So either buy one or both or none. |

The Hobbit: AUJ is a story unique unto itself, and can be enjoyed without having watched TLofR trilogy. After all, it was written before TLofR.

the problem though is that the movie was written to connect too many stories to the original LOTR trilogy...so watching LOTR first will give you a better appreciation of some of the storylines

Beware MASSIVE picture. The part you are looking for is to the right.: [Show spoiler] If you would rather not click on the gigantic picture here is the part in question. ![]() It's cool cover tho. Just not appropriate for this film. Still aggravates me the ending was chopped off this film at the last minute and that he shoehorned the reveal of the Lonely Mountain into the end raising a logic bomb of why the hell the eagles couldn't just fly them a little further. Originally the Lonely Mountain wasn't seen until after they escape the Elven King. Them coming around the bend in the barrels seeing the Lonely Mountain for the first time looming over them like a giant beast would have been perfect. Instead we got it where it doesn't belong creating an awkward question. Last edited by Cook; 01-26-2013 at 04:12 AM. |
